[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#583521: Bug#583521: guidance-power-manager: broken package

2010-06-13 Thread Alexander van Gessel
Upgrading python-kde4 indeed fixes the problem. Shouldn't
guidance-power-manager depend on a newer version then? Currently, no
version is specified.

This is the third attempt at posting this reply. Previous attempts
seem to have been swallowed by a spamfilter or something.

 Please update python-kde4 to the latest version. The one you have is buggy and
 doesn't even exist in the archive anymore.

 $ PYTHONPATH=/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5 guidance-power-manager
 Segmentation fault

 Sure, guidance-power-manager uses and depends on python2.6 for a reason.

 Please tell us if, as I expect, the python-kde4 upgrade fixes the problem.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#583521: guidance-power-manager: broken package

2010-05-27 Thread Alexander van Gessel
Package: guidance-power-manager
Version: 4.4.0-2
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze

guidance-power-manager requires a python module named kdecore, which is
included in python-kde4, but this does not apear in the PYTHONPATH by default:

$ guidance-power-manager
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File /usr/bin/guidance-power-manager, line 29, in module
from PyKDE4.kdecore import KAboutData, KCmdLineArgs, KConfig, i18n, i18nc,
i18np, ki18n, ki18nc, KGlobal, KStandardDirs, KLocalizedString
ImportError: No module named kdecore

Adding the module to the PYTHONPATH causes a segmentation fault:

$ locate kdecore
/usr/lib/libkdecore.so.4
/usr/lib/libkdecore.so.4.2.0
/usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5
/usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5.3.0
/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/PyKDE4/kdecore.so
/usr/lib/pyshared/python2.5/PyKDE4/kdecore.so

$ PYTHONPATH=/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5 guidance-power-manager
Segmentation fault
