Hello,
Trampoline Coaching courses
Gymnastics UK recommend a three-step pathway to obtain the recreational
trampolining coach qualification. This is suitable for coaches in clubs,
freelance coaches, teachers in schoools and staff in leisure centres.
Each of the three steps comprises a two day course and the completion of each
step will validate the candidate to teach up to the level covered on that
course.
The recommended pathway for recreational and therapeutic trampoline coach
training is:
Step 1) The Rebound Therapy training course. This two day course covers all the
basics of trampoline gymnastic movement as covered in grades 1 to 3 of the
Winstrada trampoline development programme. Completion of this course will
validate candidates to teach children and adults with a wide range of
disabilities. It is an internationally recognised training course and is also
suitable for teaching mainstream pre-school children.

Step 2) The 'Rebound Plus' ('Into-Mainstream') add-on module to the above. This
two day course covers the moves in grades 4 to 8 of the Winstrada development
programme and is suitable for teaching 'more able' people and mainstream
beginners.

Step 3) 'Beyond Rebound' Recreational Trampoline coaching course. A two day
course for those who have completed the Rebound Therapy and 'Rebound plus'
courses and want to progress to teaching recreational trampolining at a higher
level, including front and back somersaults. The course covers the moves in
grades 9 and 10 of the Winstrada development programme.
All the above courses are offered 'in-house' (where the tutor comes to your
school, club or centre) and as 'open' courses which anyone can attend.

For more information, including in-house courses or dates of open courses,
please reply to this email or contact the course providers direct: 'Rebound
Therapy.org' on email: i...@reboundtherapy.org or website:

The Rebound Therapy training course teaches logical progressions of movement
patterns designed to encourage the student to continually develop whilst at the
same time experiencing healthy exercise and enjoyment.
For these reasons, the Rebound Therapy course is widely accepted as the logical
starting point for trampoline coach training - even for those who do not intend
to work with disabilities. Gymnastics UK fully support this pathway of
progression which helps schools and clubs who wish to offer 'fully inclusive'
activities.
The Rebound Therapy training course has been continually developing since it
was first introduced in 1972 and is recognised both nationally in the UK and
abroad.
Kind regards,
James Merry
