Package: kile
Version: 1:2.0.1~rc1-1
Severity: minor

When I activate "Auto brackets" in Configure -> Editor -> Editing, on
top of automatically inserting closing brackets, kile duplicates input
for " and '.

- Quotation marks are not brackets. They behave differently (in LaTeX)
than brackets and have a different use. They deserve an extra option
setting for users who wish to "auto duplicate quotation marks".

- Automatic duplication of quotation marks breaks use of the
'german.sty', ie. LaTeX/kile can no longer be efficiently used with
certain language settings.

Because of the different behaviour of brackets and quotation marks, kile
should not activate duplication of *quotation marks*, when *auto
brackets* are selected. Please move the functionality to an extra
configuration setting.

Thanks for the otherwise excellent work,

Johannes

If you're running Kile 2.1.0 there's another work around.

In Settings - Configure Kile - Latex - General, deselect "Automatically insert
opening and closing double quotes for LaTex

Then, further down the Configure list, go to Extensions. Select AutoBrace and
click on the settings block to the right, in the pop-up window, deselect
"Automatically add closing quotation marks"

Hope that works
