Compared to the standard, full KDE that you get if you install the debian 
packages, Kubuntu remove many packages usually distributed as part of KDE, in 
order to fit the entire system onto a single CD.

All the rest of which can be installed online from the repository.  I think 
your initial 
message is a pretty harsh way to say only makes one CD and so you have to 
download stuff that didn't fit.
