Tried to build lustre modules with command "module-assistant -t build
lustre-source" and got message:

checking for
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64/include/linux/namei.h... no
checking if you are using Linux 2.6... no
checking that modules can be built at all... no

namei.h actially located at
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-common-openvz/include/linux/namei.h

Then I made a symlink:
 /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64/include/linux/namei.h ->
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-common-openvz/include/linux/namei.h

And started building with the same command again. Got message:

/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64/include/linux/namei.h... yes
checking if you are using Linux 2.6... yes
checking for external module build support... yes

Hey,

I'm sorry but you used a not supported kernel according to the output
provided:
2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64

Please note that you need for the server side one of these kernels:
 - 2.6.18-164.11.1.0.1.el5 (OEL 5)
 - 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5 (RHEL 5)
 - 2.6.27.39-0.3.1 (SLES 11)
 - 2.6.16.60-0.42.8 (SLES 10)

For client support you have to use one of the kernels listed above or the
vanilla kernels from kernel.org in the specified versions:
 - 2.6.16 - 2.6.30 vanilla (kernel.org)

Please refer to the Lustre Support Matrix here:
http://wiki.lustre.org/index.php/Lustre_Release_Information#Lustre_Test_Matrix

Greetings
Patrick

ps: furthermore the full sourcetree must be available for building the
lustre modules, even the client modules, linux-header packages won't help.
