I also just tried to produce a gdb backtrace. I'm not really familiar with
gdb, so I don't know if I did this right, but here it is, in the hope that
it's worth something.

It seems that libavcodec does call some other function that is not
covered by the libav package. It remains unclear where exactly the
crash happens, which is necessary to work on a fix.
Would you be able to guess where can I get the missing symbols from?
Or how to figure out which ones
