Bug#607519: libva causes GPU hang on Intel when playing Sintel in 2K resolution
Package: i965-va-driver Version: 1.0.4-1 Severity: normal I originally posted this at kernel.org as a kernel bug[1], but was told that this is no kernel bug. As libva seems to miss an upstream bug tracker, I am reporting this in the Debian BTS and CCed upstream (for upstream: always CC bug report and me in your replies, otherwise I don't get emails). [1] https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19582 -- Bug Report: I tried watching Sintel in 2K resolution using VAAPI; this caused a GPU hang. debugging the GPU hang was not possible, as reading i915_error_state failed with the message that not enough memory could be allocated. The following dmesg logs show the hang and the trace from running cat on i915_error_state. Bug#607560: vlc: luahttp can not handle directories with broken symbolic links
Package: vlc Version: 1.1.3-1 Severity: normal Dear debian and vlc users and devleoppers, I just come across a bug in the luahttp interface of vlc( vlc -I luahttp ). When browsing directories that contain a symbolic link that does not point to an existing file, the lua http interface does not report anything thing (not even . or ..). Removing the broken link shows the list of file properly. adding any broken link makes the list of file disappear again. The bug is perfectly reproducible on my machine. I do not believe there is any debian specific in this bug. Could this bug be confirmed and forwarded upstream? I can provide additionnal details if needed. So it waits for process really stopping. When upgrading icecast2, stop (in prerm) and start (in postinst) process. In some case, icecast2 gets signal and stops after a while. If icecast2 process still exists, start fails. So it waits for process really stopping. Old icecast2's init does not have "--retry TERM/5/0/30" option, so I put "sleep 3" in postinst for upgrading icecast2. Ahh, thanks for clarifying - I was wondering too. In that case it is probably better to do something like this in preinst or postinst (doublecheck that it works - below is only pseudocode!): if [ "$1" = "upgrade" ] && dpkg --compare-versions "$2" le 2.3.2-6; then pkill icecast2 fi - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

I believe it is "important" to Debian, because I can imagine video-team trying to setup streams during conferences, trying to use (not yet) released squeeze distribution and causing undesired set of issues added to the ones that already happen. Of course, users [0] could also complain when their setups break, nor to talk on the set of scripts people might run producing the wrong behaviour, inclding derivatives from Debian and having to spend quite a while to dig where the problem is, which it already happen to me today. >> On a pure Debian/unstable system, I attempt to convert *.flv to >> *.ogg and it fails in many ways (I tried many options during the day). > The FFmpeg in unstable has been frozen since around july.
