Is that really enough? I think a line 'export PATH' is missing here, so
that also programs that get executed in the context of this script
pick-up the new location.

Status of easytag in Debian and Ubuntu

2011-05-01 Thread Maia Kozheva
As confirmed in this Sourceforge thread: http://bit.ly/ikwQgj , easytag's
original upstream (on Sourceforge) is deader than disco.

I see two options here: either rebase the easytag package to the github fork,
or
remove it altogether and direct users to alternatives such as exfalso, kid3,
and
puddletag (which is not in repositories yet but has had an ITP filed for it).
What would you suggest?

In either case, I would suggest removing the easytag-aac package from Ubuntu
and
at most, leaving only easytag. The easytag-aac package is a copy of easytag
linked against libmp4v2, and GPL software cannot link against an MPL library.

Bug#624775: lv2core: Buffer overflow in serd-0.1.0.c

2011-05-01 Thread Dan Muresan
Package: lv2core
Version: 4.0-5
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

This is a bug against the SOURCE package from Debian Sid so my distribution
is irrelevant.

When building lv2core-4.0-5 from sid, I noticed a warning about snprintf
being guaranteed to overflow in write_text. The problem seems to be that the
local variable `escape' is declared as char [10], then used in snprintf as
if it had 11 characters.

Attached patch trivially fixes that.

naspro-bridges-bad REMOVED from testing

2011-05-01 Thread Debian testing watch
FYI: The status of the naspro-bridges-bad source package
in Debian's testing distribution has changed.

  Previous version: 0.2.0-2
  Current version: (not in testing)
  Hint: Package not in unstable

The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal
reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments
were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the
reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is
probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the
actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals.

Upcoming Libav 0.7 transition

2011-05-01 Thread Reinhard Tartler
The following message is a courtesy copy of an article
that has been posted to gmane.linux.debian.devel.release as well.

Hi,

I'd like to ask for permission to start a new Libav (the new FFmpeg)
transition in unstable. The current package can be seen in experimental,
basically all libraries bumped SONAME, so that the new release is
co-installable with the Libav 0.6 series.

Cheers,

Package: libavcodec-dev
Version: 4:0.7~b1-1

Hi,

idjc fails to build for me:

| gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I..-Wall -std=gnu99 -O2-I/usr/include/FLAC
 -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -g -O2 -c -o
idjcmixer-avcodecdecode.o `test -f 'avcodecdecode.c' || echo
'./'`avcodecdecode.c
| avcodecdecode.c: In function ‘avcodecdecode_reg’:
| avcodecdecode.c:235:33: error: ‘CODEC_TYPE_AUDIO’ undeclared (first use in
this function)
| avcodecdecode.c:235:33: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only
once for each function it appears in
| make[4]: *** [idjcmixer-avcodecdecode.o] Error 1
| make[4]: Leaving directory `/tmp/idjc/c'

Presumably this is due to a small planned API change, based on
libavcodec/avcodec.h:

| #if LIBAVCODEC_VERSION_MAJOR 53
| #define CodecType AVMediaType
|
| #define CODEC_TYPE_UNKNOWNAVMEDIA_TYPE_UNKNOWN
| #define CODEC_TYPE_VIDEO AVMEDIA_TYPE_VIDEO
| #define CODEC_TYPE_AUDIO AVMEDIA_TYPE_AUDIO
[...]

Please consider documenting this in the changelog or NEWS.Debian, with
a few words of advice for callers (probably that they should use
s/CODEC_/AVMEDIA_/ and the latter name has worked since version x.y.z
for some x, y, and z, I suppose).

Thanks for keeping the ffmpeg libs working nicely.

Regards,
Jonathan
