Bug#629167: patchage: Drop LASH support
Package: patchage Version: 0.5.0-0.1 Severity: important Hi, LASH Audio Session Handler was abandoned upstream in favor of the new session management system, called ladish: LADI Session Handler. Since we intend to remove the obsolete lash in time for Wheezy, some packages need to rebuild without build-depending on it. So, please, remove liblash-dev from the Build-Depends field. Thanks in advance. -- Alessio Treglia | www.alessiotreglia.com Debian Developer | ales...@debian.org Ubuntu Core Developer | quadris...@ubuntu.com 0FEC 59A5 E18E E04F 6D40 593B 45D4 8C7C DCFC 3FD0 ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Bug#629158: mplayer: cdda playback pauses every 15 seconds due to buffering
On Sat, Jun 04, 2011 at 11:43:56AM +0800, Michael Deegan wrote: > Playback of CDs is currently unusable as mplayer reads 15 seconds of audio > at a time, which seems to be long enough for the disk to spin down by the > time it wants to read the next chunk. But then libcdparanoia comes with its absolutely stupid caching strategy and ends up grouping it into huge bunches of requests once every 15 seconds. Not sure which to recommend, but possible solutions are: 1) linking against libcdio which does not have the issue 2) fixing libcdparanoia to be behave better 3) using a large -cache to compensate for it 4) limit libcdparanoia's caching so it can't break things quite as badly I think I'd recommend you to go with 3) as a workaround and Debian to go with 1) (just using --disable-cdparanoia should pick up libcdio if libcdio-paranoia-dev is installed) and I've implemented 4) in MPlayer SVN (r33557, only tested against my CD drive, might not work as well with others). Disadvantage with 4) is that it probably decreases ripping performance, but I don't think many use MPlayer for that. ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Yes. Many packages using fonts access them through 'fontconfig', so installing the related font package is not sufficient for other packages to use the fonts, they can only work if the fontconfig database is updated, which currently happens through the triggers file. > 2/ If your package uses the "activate" directive, is it important that > your package be considered as not configured (and thus not satisfying > dependencies) until the trigger has been processed?
