Bonjour

2011-03-04 Thread Mme vigier isabelle

Bonjour

Mme VIGIER ISABELLE

Are we ready to upload this (and 1.9.6~dfsg.1-5) to unstable?

can we please get the current mega transition get through before
 starting yet another one?

This is done now, I guess we can upload.

really no longer build mplayer-gui, Closes: #612473

the gui uses private, internal symbols of swscale

Shouldn't at least an alternative package (say, kmplayer) get pulled
in? Or shouldn't some package Replace: mplayer-gui?

I am afraid that the obsolete mplayer-gui package keeps lurking on

Well, I think smplayer is way superior, but mplayer-gui has now seen
upstream some development boost due to a fresh blood. For debian, we
need to investigate why it fails to build against a shared libswscale,
check the upstream status on that situation and ideally backport the fix
to the debian package.

I am afraid that the obsolete mplayer-gui package keeps lurking on
user's systems, although it is empty and obsolete...

Obsolete packages should be dealt with at some higher level, IMO.

Supplying an rtmp url will result in a dumped flv file, which can be

Re: Request for pyjack to be included in pkg-multimedia

2011-03-04 Thread Filipe Lopes
hey there

I'm one of the maintainers of py-jack, and as you probably already noticed,
the project hasn't been updated in a while.
This is because I'm working on a new implementation of 'jack in python',
called jacklib.

This is a simple file that you can add to your source tree, and just do
'import jacklib'.
It uses ctypes to communicate with jack, and the API is indentical to the
one used in real jack (c code).

link - http://repo.or.cz/w/cadence.git/blob_plain/master:/src/jacklib.py

Packaging it is not a good idea, developers should just import the file and
use it, like this:

import jacklib
client = jacklib.client_open(name, jacklib.NullOption, 0)
jacklib.client_close(client)

It's possible to write real jack apps using this implementation (see
audio_plugin_test.py and xycontroller.py in the same repo)

 Sounds wrong.

 I get the following:

OK, this seems like the same error. Now, could you please try the
following? This will be a bit more annoying, unfortunately.

Build the source package corresponding to tag debian/5.12.1.dfsg-5,
installing it and trying again (this is to check if the problem was
some buildd temporary issue). Then try the latest git HEAD.

I think I fixed this bug in commit 018514f, but I'm not sure.

OK, natty, which has 5.13 exhibits this problem too. Can the ubuntu
build logs be obtained from somewhere?

Bug#612887: please avoid the dependency on several sound servers

2011-03-04 Thread Adam C. Emerson
Package: cmus
Version: 2.3.4-1
Severity: normal

I agree that libroar should not recommend the sound server. However,
as I understand it libroar and libpulse are required by plugins loaded
at run-time rather than having cmus statically linked against them.

Would it be reasonable to change from depends to recommends or
suggests, since, if I am correct, cmus would work fine without these
libraries unless you loaded the plugins requiring them?

sure. go to: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/csound

select the version of the package you are interested in, expand text by
clicking on the triangle left next to the package symbol, then click on
the architecture name below the changelog and diff for the upload. This
will give you the link to the buildjob, where you'll find the link to
the buildlog.
