handbrake_0.9.8-1~19.gbpc8b9ba_amd64.changes is NEW
Your package contains new components which requires manual editing of the override file. It is ok otherwise, so please be patient. New packages are usually added to the override file about once a week. ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
Debug symbols in packages, what's the policy?
I had someone asking about this on a Ubuntu Studio IRC channel, and myself being ignorant on the subject, I got help from the same person on collecting some info on debugging symbols being built in into debian multimedia packages, and also searched the web a bit to see what I could find. As he suggested, some packages, such as qtractor, have build flags for including debug symbols in the rules file. And what I found while searching the web was that this may be the preferred way to build debian multimedia packages - http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=684035. So, my question is, is there a policy for including debug symbols with debian multimedia packages, and why? If so, why not split those into additional packages? ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Is it time to remove dmedia?
Hi, as you can see from bug #686697, desktopcouch is planned to be removed from the archive. dmedia still requires desktopcouch, so I wonder whether it could be worth removing dmedia as well, as it seems unmaintained. Could you please comment on that? Cheers, Luca ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
Re: Is it time to remove dmedia?
Hi Luca, Newer versions of dmedia depend on libraries which are not a part of Debian (yet), so it makes sense to remove dmedia from the archive right now, and then add it later on when the novacut stack is complete (and the required libraries are in place). I chatted with upstream too, and they didn't have any objections to a package removal. So, feel free to go ahead and file a removal request. Do we need the entire team's consent for that? Bug#687122: mplayer2: fails on resume from suspend to disk
Package: mplayer2 Version: 2.0-554-gf63dbad-1+b1 Severity: normal If I put the computer to sleep (suspend to ram) while mplayer2 is playing a movie, it has no problem resuming where it left off when the systme comes back on. Not so with hibernate (suspend to disk). On resume, the picture is frozen where it left off and the audio is a very loud short loop indistinguishable from noise. It will not respond to any keyboard input. I am still however able to switch to an other desktop and send it the kill signal to which it appears to respond. Attached is the output and my config file. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (600, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (400, 'stable'), (300, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.5.3.00 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mplayer2 depends on: ii libaa11.4p5-40 ii libasound21.0.25-4 ii libass4 0.10.0-3 ii libavcodec53 6:0.8.3-7 ii libavformat53 6:0.8.3-7 ii libavutil51 6:0.8.3-7 ii libbluray11:0.2.2-1 ii libc6 2.13-35 ii libcaca0 0.99.beta18-1 ii libcdio-cdda1 0.83-4 ii libcdio-paranoia1 0.83-4 ii libcdio13 0.83-4 ii libdca0 0.0.5-5 ii libdirectfb-1.2-9 1.2.10.0-5 ii libdvdnav44.2.0+20120524-2 ii libdvdread4 4.2.0+20120521-2 ii libenca0 1.13-4 ii libfaad2 2.7-8 ii libfontconfig12.9.0-7 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1 ii libfribidi0 0.19.2-3 ii libgif4 4.1.6-9.1 ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 8.0.4-2 ii libjack0 [libjack-0.116] 1:0.121.3+20120418git75e3e20b-2 ii libjpeg8 8d-1 ii liblircclient00.9.0~pre1-1 ii libncurses5 5.9-10 ii libogg0 1.3.0-4 ii libpng12-01.2.49-3 ii libpostproc52 6:0.8.3-7 ii libpulse0 2.0-6 ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.15-5 ii libsmbclient 2:3.6.6-3 ii libspeex1 1.2~rc1-6 ii libswscale2 6:0.8.3-7 ii libtheora01.1.1+dfsg.1-3.1 ii libtinfo5 5.9-10 ii libvdpau1 0.4.1-7 ii libvorbis0a 1.3.2-1.3 ii libx11-6 2:1.5.0-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.1-2 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.2-1 ii libxv12:1.0.7-1 ii libxvidcore4 2:1.3.2-9 ii libxxf86dga1 2:1.1.3-2 ii libxxf86vm1 1:1.1.2-1 ii zlib1g1:1.2.7.dfsg-13 mplayer2 recommends no packages. mplayer2 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information # Write your default config options here! # vf=scale=-3:392 heartbeat-cmd=xscreensaver-command -deactivate stop-xscreensaver=true # heartbeat-cmd=xset dpms force on fs=true nojoystick=true fixed-vo=true ao=alsa vo=gl nolirc=true softvol=true softvol-max=2000 $ mplayer wall.street.money.never.sleeps-vip3r.avi MPlayer2 UNKNOWN (C) 2000-2012 MPlayer Team Playing wall.street.money.never.sleeps-vip3r.avi.
