Bug#739127: ecasound: Please support building with Ruby 2.0
Source: ecasound Version: 2.9.1-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, A new ruby-defaults, switching the default Ruby version to 2.0, will be uploaded soon. (It is available in experimental for testing.) During a test rebuild of rdepends with the new package, your package failed to build. If possible, please change your package in advance to support building for Ruby 2.0, so when ruby-defaults is uploaded, only a binNMU is needed. Bug#733071: NMU coming
I'm going to upload an NMU to break the dependency on libxerces-c2-dev so this doesn't prevent my removal request from going through. There are two additional FTBFS problems that are also addressed by my NMU. Since this package has not been uploaded for a while and is not in testing, and since this upload fixes two RC bugs, I'm going to upload the NMU immediately. The debdiff is attached. Bug#739118: blender: FTBFS on s390x (and other non-official 64-bit architectures)
Package: blender Version: 2.69-3 Severity: serious Tags: upstream patch Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past) Since the default gcc has been upgraded to gcc-4.8, blender fails to build on s390x, and on a few non-official architectures like ppc64 and sparc64. This is due to a hardcoded list of architectures with 64-bit pointers which has to be updated. The patch below fixes the issue: --- blender-2.69.orig/intern/atomic/atomic_ops.h +++ blender-2.69/intern/atomic/atomic_ops.h @@ -61,7 +61,7 @@ # endif #endif -#if defined(_M_X64) || defined(__amd64__) || defined(__x86_64__) +#if defined(_M_X64) || defined(__amd64__) || defined(__x86_64__) || defined(__s390x__) || defined(__powerpc64__) || (defined(__sparc__) && defined(__arch64__)) # define LG_SIZEOF_PTR 3 # define LG_SIZEOF_INT 2 #else On the other hand, it might be a good idea to actually detect the size of a pointer instead of having an hardcoded list. The following code can be used for that: | #include | #include | | #if (UINTPTR_MAX == UINT64_MAX) | # define LG_SIZEOF_PTR 3 | #elif (UINTPTR_MAX == UINT32_MAX) | # define LG_SIZEOF_PTR 2 | #else | # error Can not determine size of a pointer | #endif | | #if (UINT_MAX == UINT64_MAX) | # define LG_SIZEOF_INT 3 | #elif (UINT_MAX == UINT32_MAX) | # define LG_SIZEOF_INT 2 | #else | # error Can not determine size of a int | #endif Or it can probably also be done directly with cmake. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: s390x Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-s390x (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Bug#739079: transition: libav10
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: transition Hi, We have a new libav transition pending. Libav 10 is prepared in debian/experimental, and I've started to build packges against this new version; in fact, more or more packages require Libav 10 and the new APIs it provides. Unfortunately, this new release does break a number of packages in the debian archive. At upstream, we are concerned about this and have conducted a survey about the fallout here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/mnrZI5XlxP Most projects have been fixed upstream already, some other are rather easy to fix (e.g., simple renames such as CODEC_ID -> AV_CODEC_ID, etc.). In order to help with porting, Libav provides a migration guide here: https://wiki.libav.org/Migration/10 I sincerly do hope that this libav10 transition will not be as painful as libav9, but we do have a number of undermaintained packages in the archive that require upstream work. For those, I'd suggest to be a bit more aggressive with removing them from testing for the sake of having this transition done more quickly. Thanks for your assistance. libav-tools
Hi, Very useful tool, but options not standard... How do I extract (convert video) to CBR (constant BitRate) mp3 ? Always getting VBR! is there another (complete) helpfile with ALL options / usages? -c:a -c opt -codec ... is not standard. Should be --codec. Also -o file would be standard (more than -i, which rather could be omitted...) => Perhaps avconv2 ? with "standardized" options as usual? ( --filter-* , --filter-video-[FILTERNAME opts,]+ --filter-audio-[FILTERNAME opts,] ) ( -f=FILTERNAME opts -fv=FILTERNAME1:opts, =FILTERNAME2:opts,... -fa=FILTERNAME3:opts1,...,optsn]+ if more of same filter (e.g. -fa) then there are used for each file (map is used within 1 file for different streams?) WIuld it be good to have filters for reading/extracting input creating file F1..Fn, stream F1S1..F1Sn and then outputfilters mapping these to OutputFiles (O1..On streams T1..Tn) ? PLEASE also CC email directly, i#m not subscribed to this list!
