Bug#785311: mpv: a paused vdpau video prevents display of video of a second vdpau instance

2015-05-14 Thread Arthur Marsh
Package: mpv
Version: 0.9.1-1+ffmpeg
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

After the r600 radeon fix incorporated in 4.1.0-rc3, I was able to
play videos using a command like:

mpv --vo=vdpau --hwdec=vdpau *.mkv

However, pausing one video and attempting to start a second mpv session using
vdpau resulted in the second video window being black. The second video could
be replayed successfully using opengl while the first one using vdpau was
paused.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Bug#785326: libavcodec56: CVE-2014-7937 - Multiple off-by-one errors in libavcodec/vorbisdec.c

2015-05-14 Thread Arne Wichmann
Package: libavcodec56
Version: 6:11.3-2
Severity: grave
Tags: security
Justification: user security hole

Hi, as far as I can see this has not yet been reported or fixed:

CVE-2014-7937 : Multiple off-by-one errors in libavcodec/vorbisdec.c in
FFmpeg before 2.4.2, as used in Google Chrome before 40.0.2214.91, allow
remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free) or possibly
have unspecified other impact via crafted Vorbis I data [1]

I marked this as grave as the impact is unclear and might include arbitrary
code execution. Feel free do downgrade if this can be ruled out.

(Actually I would like to have a look at the test case to check a bit more
thoroughly, but AFAICS I would need to talk to google for this.)

Bug#728710: jackd2: Bus error w/ POST_PACKED_STRUCTURE on powerpc G4 32bit

2015-05-14 Thread Martin Langer
Hi,

please apply the patch above from Adrian (identical with the attached one) also
to jessie.

I run into the same bus error with a freshly installed jessie on my powerpc
(1GHz Powerbook, G4).
Nevertheless this small patch fixes the bus error and jack is running fine now
with jessie.

I'm really happy that this patch was already existing...

Thank you very much.

Martin

Bug#785347: mplayer2: --frames miscounted when using --ss

2015-05-14 Thread Frank Heckenbach
Package: mplayer2
Version: 2.0-728-g2c378c7-4+b1
Severity: normal

When seeking with --ss to a position 0, the number of frames given
with --frames is not applied correctly. E.g. (using the videos from
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/python-mecavideo):

mplayer --ss=1 --frames=1 --vo=jpeg
usr/share/python-mecavideo/video/Principe_inertie.avi

produces 000[1-6].jpg, instead of just one (same with png, tga,
pnm).
