Yes, I don't speak for Canonical but my impression is that Canonical
would rather not commit to providing support for inkscape.

There's a lot I don't know about Ubuntu language packs. But I think a
rebuild should be all that's needed. (I am guessing that the next
18.04 language pack simply won't include inkscape translations. The
rebuild is so that Launchpad won't strip the translations during the
build so that the app will have regular upstream bundled
translations.)

> Also, what about anything that was done through
> https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/inkscape ?

Well those won't be used by anything any more. Optionally, you could
opt into Ubuntu language packs if you wanted (only affects Ubuntu
obviously) by adding the X-Ubuntu-Use-Langpack: yes header to your
debian/control. See Evolution for instance:
https://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-evolution/unstable/evolution/debian/control?view=markup

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

It's not like I diskliked having it in main, mind you! :)

I know nothing about l10n/i18n. Do somebody need to do anything
special to get the translations out of the langpack?
Also, what about anything that was done through
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/inkscape ?

Sure, I'll make sure it gets done before bionic releases.

Bug#885108: inkscape: Consider dropping gnome-pkg-tools Build-Depends

2017-12-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Package: inkscape
Version: 0.92.2-2
Severity: minor

inkscape was recently demoted to Ubuntu universe. (It appears to have
been kept in "main" a bit longer than necessary.)

Unless a package opts in or out, main packages participate in Ubuntu's
language packs and universe packages don't. I don't see a particular
reason to opt in here.

Therefore, feel free to drop the gnome-pkg-tools Build-Depends added
in inkscape 0.91-11. There's no urgency although I think we should at
least do a rebuild of inkscape in Ubuntu before 18.04 LTS is released.

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

Bug#885094: ladish: Depends on old GNOME libraries

As announced [1], we do not intend to release Debian 10 "Buster" with
the old libgnome (and related) libraries. These libraries have been
deprecated and unmaintained for several years.

Your package depends and or build-depends on these libraries:

- libglade2
- libgnomecanvasmm-2.6
- flowcanvas (? since it in turn also depends on libgnomecanvas2-0 )

Please port your package to GTK3 and related maintained libraries.
Otherwise, please consider requesting that your package be removed from
Debian to help us complete this goal.

Your package has apparently unnecessary Build-Depends on
libgnomecanvasmm-2.6-dev and libglademm-2.4-dev. Both of those
libraries will be removed from Debian soon.

I have uploaded a fix for this issue to the DELAYED/10 queue (plus a
few other packaging updates). Please let me know if I should delay (or
speed up) the upload. I will attach the debdiff in a follow-up email.

Bug#885085: cantata: dynamic playlists only work with MPD reachable via IPv4

2017-12-23 Thread Peter Marschall
Package: cantata
Version: 2.1.0.ds1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Due to the use of IO::Socket::INET, cantata-dynamic is limited to IPv4 and
fails without notice on a pure IPv6 connection.

The regular end-user does not know about the way cantata internally deals with
playlists and wonders why the dynamic playlists he/she created do not work.

The issue can be quickly solved by replacing all 3 occurrences of
  IO::Socket::INET
with
  IO::Socket::IP
in cantata-dynamic, and adding a dependency to libio-socket-ip-perl.

The corresponding bug up stream, although without the patch, is
  https://github.com/CDrummond/cantata/issues/1148

Thanks for maintaining cantata in Debian
Peter

Apparently, on a windows machine you get a "trust this certificate" pop-up
window and you are able to import the chromecast certificate. In Debian
there isn't such window. How to accept the chromecast certificate?

Bug#885077: ll-scope: Drop (Build-)Depends on libglademm2.4

2017-12-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Source: ll-scope
Version: 0.2.1-3
Severity: serious
User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: oldlibs libglade
Tags: sid buster

As announced [1], we do not intend to release Debian 10 "Buster" with
the old libgnome (and related) libraries.

Your package depends and build-depends on libglademm2.4. Please drop
that dependency. (That might require porting your app to GTK+ 3.)

Otherwise, please consider requesting that your package be removed from
Debian to help us complete this goal.

On behalf of the Debian GNOME team,
Jeremy Bicha
