   Hello,

As far as I can tell, there are no reasons why VLC would even need to
bother about white spaces in URLs. URLs cannot contain white spaces by
specification. White spaces in URLs should be encoded as %20. So to me, it
looks like the bug lies in your file manager or whichever other application
is parsing the vlc.desktop: That application is not passing syntactically
valid URLs to VLC.

Feel free to reassign to the correct package.
