Hey Mattia,
Thanks a lot for such a detailed answer. It seems that I'm in situation 3b
(it asks me to remove half of the system :( ) as well. I've no idea about
the package that can be generating the issue.
The most problematic package seems to be libsigc++-2.0-0v5 and according to

This finally solved my problem. Using 'apt-show-versions |
Hey guys,
First of all I want to apologize beforehand if I'm breaking any rule or
protocol for reporting bugs in Debian, it's the first time I'm
writing/reporting a problem here.
I noticed that you marked this ticket as closed but after reading this
thread I'm still unable to install Inkscape in

Hi Tsu Jan,
inkscape can be installed in sid without any issues:
# apt update
Hit http://http.debian.net sid InRelease
Hit http://http.debian.net sid/main Sources
Hit http://http.debian.net sid/main amd64 Packages
Hit http://http.debian.net sid/main Translation-en
Reading package lists... Done

I won't.

If this is a real question, you could ask Manjaro's maintainers. The
same "transition" happened there and I didn't even notice

@ Stuart
Hi,
Thank you for the info!
I'm not a new Debian user: when I said I removed deb-multimedia, I
implicitly meant I removed all its packages too,

Apart from the
Dear maintainers, if by "unofficial repositories" you mean the excellent
work that is being done at "deb-multimedia.org", it's not to be blamed:
the current mess persists after removing it from "sources.list". I have
a working system only because I use Synaptic to upgrade packages one by one.

Please elaborate what "excellent work" you are talking about
specifically.

I think this statement is important to help you become aware that the
problems are widespread. The answer I got is not regarding only
Inkscape but it is a general suggestion.

in the past few weeks, Debian has seen a major transition (of the core
components for any C++-related software in Debian) that affected *many*
packages and

This is most likely because of the libatkmm-1.6-1 -> libatkmm-1.6-1v5
transition. You better wait

The problem is not resolved (the test are below).
Regarding the hybrid configuration, I think it is a problem because
there not exists the last version of a library but your are branching
them so my Linux "lives" using some library from a branch and
Package: inkscape
Version: 0.91-5
Severity: important

Hi,
if I try to install inkscape I got some errors on dependences (follows
the complete list).
I check the first two libraries and I noticed that the name is slightly
changed:
