I was using some patched version from deb-multimedia.org indeed.
Removing it manually of course is a workaround, but the system I am
developing requires smooth upgrades from previous versions.
(BTW, I have to learn how to report bugs and where, maybe you have
some links with the instructions?)

please file a proper bug report using the reportbug utility so we get
more information about package versions and dependencies.
I assume you have packages from deb-multimedia.org installed. Please
remove them before attempting to upgrade packages from Debian. As a
workaround, please remove the ffmpeg package beforehand.
