Yes, that is the reason. I made that split to allow users (who don't
want JACK) to use mhwaveedit without installing JACK stuff.

 The price for this freedom is the loss of the
 one size fits all version, and I don't think it's worth the effort.

I thought that who uses JACK usually doesn't rely on PulseAudio for
production purposes, so I thought that providing JACK support only was
enough.
