+1 Let's keep it in the wiki and not spread information across
multiple non-debian related sites.

I am from Germany (Rurhgebiet).

 Hi!

A while ago, there was a proposal for a real-life team meeting. In the
end, we decided to have IRC meetings, first.

If you think it's worth to have a real-life session, then it's probably
a good idea to meet before releasing squeeze.

AFAIK, Debian will sponsor food, accommodation and travelling for such a
 team meeting.

Who's interested? Proposals for time and place?

fwiw, we started to collect possibilities on the wiki:
 http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia/Meetings

I've been involved in LAC for 4 past iterations on their streamteam, but
sadly cannot make it again this year. :-( But, I can vouch for it as a
good environment with lots of great people.

We do have some numbers growing for DC10 and should definitely make
plans for working sessions there. Something sooner than that is
 obviously highly desirable, though.

Great.

But the discussion here is if we can meet earlier too.

Interested.

I don't even have a feeling what parts of the globe we are located, so
maybe start with that:

I live in Denmark.

We can all post our location here, or perhaps use an outside tool like
ohloh.net to get a feeling of our spread.

I have now created Debian Multimedia as a project at ohloh.net - let's
see how many like me find it fun to register there. Project is here:
https://www.ohloh.net/p/pkg-multimedia

I will be in Budapest last week of April, Torino first week of June, and
Leipzig 3rd and 4th week of June. At those places I can most likely
squeeze in a day or two of meeting. t other times you are welcome to all
crash at my place in Denmark :-) or open to travel if paid for.

Arrh, that looks like a great place to meet (for us europeans at least).
Unfortunately I am still in Budapest at that time. But if others are
free there, I recommend that place (don't mind me)!

I'm pretty sure I can't assist anything this year. University has
