I tested it fine on a sysvinit machine and install went fine on a
systemd powered machine (did not actually test the web interface). I
think its caused by some gitlab services failing to start with systemd,
possibly because I left our some path changes in pid or logs.
Can you share

Right, just did that in git: http://deb.li/19k7

I marked the package for accept, but please add
rbpdf-1.19.0/rbpdf-font/lib/fonts/ttf2ufm/*
to the LGPL license block in your debian/copyright.
Thanks!

I have a theory. Could it be that you assume the content of /var/run to be
persistent between reboots? And thus you rely on your postinst script creating
/var/run/gitlab and then assume it must exist after the next reboot as well?
Package: gitlab

Hi,
after upgrading to the latest gitlab version, gitlab.target fails to
load:
root@22gitlab:~# systemctl status gitlab.target

Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Hi,
this problem appeared after my upgrade to 8.4.3+dfsg-6 without me
changing anything in my configuration, so I assume that this must be
gitlab's fault, thus the high severity.
The symptom is, that
