Security issues in KDM, seriously? Maybe if it's configured to serve incoming
remote connections, but for local security I don't think it can be a big
concern
given how easily one can get at a virtual console anyway.
Unless KDM is also responsible for locking a session once you're logged in?

If you hate the look, change the look locally. It supports themes.
Changing the backend because of the look would be ridiculous.

it bluntly).
How difficult/impossible would it be to port KDM, presuming that hasn't been
done already?
Evidently I wouldn't expect Wayland support.
