If you hardly even use it, that might be the problem. The rubber
rollers tend to dry out, especially if they aren't used regularly and
that makes them smoth so they won't feed. Try putting from isopropyl
alcohol on a q-tip and clean the rollers. That should get it working
again if they are
the won't auto feed. could it be the printer? It is only two years old and
I hardly ever scan. Is hp known to only have a two year shelf life?

well I got the xsane issue resolved. It had to do with the
viewer/save/copy setting. now how about that printer that won't auto
feed? could it be the printer? It is only two years old and I hardly ever
scan. Is hp known to only have a two year shelf life? New thread time.

I was thinking it might be the scanner but I tried a different program
(simple scan) and that worked great (though I had to put each of the pages
I had to scan on the bed ). The scanner is an HP Officejet
4652.
