I'm trying to install snort on to my kali box (my new shiny toy) and I:
wget -O snort-2.9.20.tar.gz

tar xvzf snort-2.9.20.tar.gz
--snip--
and I get the error message:
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format.
duhh check the md5sum which tells me it didn't download
