Re: kodi tvaddons
well, the media cartels can go pound sand as far as I am concerned. I can get most of the content I want from Amazon, netflix, hulu (if I could ever get around the accessibility issues) or even youtube tv. And honestly, paying more than $35 a month for tv service is just a ripoff. btw, that is what I pay for youtube tv (chrome cast unit) and I get live streams of current programming, movies, tv shows from all over the planet and even pro sports (without having to pay $150 a month for it all). and yes, there is also all that youtube content (not the tv stuff). things like Guns TV, car and truck stuff, and so much more. hell, the room mate here spends so much time in his easy chair, I might have to order in a napp-crapper 5000 just so he doesn't have to get up to use the bathroom. (bad joke from the film: stay tuned). so, there you have it. TV of the future and at 25% the cost of standard digital cable. :) -eric from the central offices of the Technomage Guild, Multimedia marketing Dept. btw, if you want any of this: call Jame Hidalgo at 623-500-3341 and tell him that eric oyen sent you. Re: wired/wireless
03:06.0 Network controller: Ralink corp. RT5362 PCI 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter 03:0e.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments TSB43AB23 IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller (PHY/Link) Do you still have the wireless in there? I would remove that firewire card too. When you plug the computer into the modem, do you mean you are plugging it directly into the single port on a "cable modem", or do you mean you're plugging it into one of several ports on the wifi "router"? If the former, you need to make sure to power cycle the "modem" in order for it to accept a new device (mac address) On Thu, Nov 23, 2017 at 11:50 AM, Michaelwrote: > My computer seems to reboot when I run darktable with a wireless card. Amazon EC2 cloud desktop
I have a pre-built EC2 AMI with RStudio I use to study R. I can use it from my Mac or Windows machine. It is nice. I want an EC2 Ubuntu 16.04 AMI to use as an affordable cloud based Linux machine to play with toys, like teaching myself Haskell. Take lappy for coffee, get internet on the phone. Do Haskell exercises. Go home. Continue exercises on desktop. (I can run Linux virtual guests on both the Mac and Windows machine.) Unfortunately, it looks like using the image is a sysadmin challenge, not least because if you want a GUI, you have to get it working on your own. I'm way down the sysadmin learning curve, compounded by the fact that I usually don't enjoy system administration chores. Has anyone got some useful thoughts?
