Which linux distro would you suggest for someone who wants to install
linux but wants an easy to set up and configure distro?

Yeah, I'm still at ubuntu 10.04 *entirely* due to Unity. Gag me - I have a

But, anyway, yes, I *can* use just about any distro, but I use Ubuntu because I
want it to work and I don't need to prove I can do hard
I have gnome 3 on 12.04 figured out.. it is certainly growing on me.

Since I'm strapped for cash, my internet access currently is via the
library across the street. I have wireless usb adapter. It's a netgear
adapter. The box says N300 wireless adapter wna3100. The kubuntu 12.04
live cd doesn't detect the adapter. I have the cd that came with it.

me you fundamentally don't understand the problem.

Yup. There's only one real gotcha with Ubuntu Precise and it
involves the NVidia 295.40 driver. With some older cards it stinks.
They just came out with 295.49 and it can be found very easily as a
.DEB file for Precise. Highly recommended.
