The other computer is ubuntu. As to the log I am unsure which one you want.
Probably /var/log/cups but I am unsure.

Okay, so this is a printer shared through another computer, right?
You can see the printer, but it says it's not plugged in. What is the
other computer?
Can you see logs from the other computer of access attempts.
What is it whining about?

uhh, i didn't get that, that seemed to search in man pages or something
but i did try this
find ~ -name *sound*
and that works, i was just trying to find the *easier, read; lazy way*,
to find a file where you just knew the name or part of the name but
didn't remember which folder it was in.
