I recently went from a WRT54G to a wireless 802.11n access point plugged
into an SME Server... what a difference between 802.11g and 802.11n!
I picked up several of these so I could hook up the DVR and a few other
things I didn't feel like running wires for:
That sounds like way more drama than I want to get involved in :)
Perhaps send it directly to your stalker friend?

Yes however you can open the port from the GUI under
system- administration - security level and firewall
if you don't want to poke around on the command line.
Likely the reason you don't have to open the special service for ssh is that
sshd is a trusted service.

I believe Centos uses
/etc/sysconfig/iptables
/etc/sysconfig/iptables-config
and scripts in /usr/share/system-config-securitylevel/ for the GUI to set
open ports.
The file that matters is /etc/sysconfig/iptables
it generally looks like this (I grabbed this from a centos5.5 box):
# Firewall
Or filezilla for either

assuming it is iso9660:
mkdir /tmp/iso
mount -o loop -t iso9660 /tmp/cdimage.iso /mnt/iso

Usually the drive must have more than one partition and grub/lilo on it to
fool the OS into treating it like a normal disk.
unetbootin works well to create such things:
