A client of mine, having ubuntu 7.10 wants to buy BSNL Edvo 3G modem.
Has anyone got it running under that OS? We are already running Tata USB
stick modem, but getting very bad speed, so we want to change.
Changing OS is not an option cos' already many things are running
smoothly on it

Is EVDO still being offered? I had heard that there is a break in its
availability from BSNL. It was to resume some time later.
As far as I know, BSNL is no longer giving out new EVDO connections.
However, Reliance is giving EVDO connections, and at least one person
I know is happy with

I was merely referring to the speed he saw (175 Kbps).
Whether Reliance EVDO will work on linux depends on the modem. I have
no info on this aspect.
