[PLUG] [Commercial] Software Developer [Intern] opportunities at Red Hat

2012-04-11 Thread Sankarshan Mukhopadhyay
And, it is also a request that if you'd know someone who would like to
work at Red Hat, please pass this along.

My team looking for a Software Developer [Intern] (6 months duration)
who has participated in various coding competitions and has strong
fundamentals in algorithm design. The developer is expected to work on
data sets of reasonably large size and apply methods of quantitative
analysis to generate conclusions. We'd love to see familiarity with
Python and maths/graphing libraries. Familiarity and comfort with R
would be a real plus.

We are also looking for another developer who would be interested in a
similar role of an intern. The developer would be expected to work
with database test framework and develop test cases for a dataset of
reasonable complexity. Familiarity with scripting languages especially
Python is expected. Knowledge of testing methodologies and an
understanding of test case frameworks is a big plus.

These opportunities are based out of Pune. If you do know someone
who'd be a good fit, please send them our way (sankarshan at redhat
dot com) for a chat and we'll see how things go from there.

Having said that, I don't expect them to show up high in the stats in
the upcoming years because maintenance work in such drivers isn't that
high typically.  What it does, is a change in approach within MS in some
ways and that there is demand from MS customers who want to run Linux as
 a guest.

Succinctly put; really sums it up well.
