[PLUG] Need info about RHCE training in Pune

2011-05-07 Thread Thyag Sundaramoorthy
 plug-mail@plug.org.inHi Pune Linux users,

I would like to know if there is a good training center in Pune for RHCE
certification. I am mainly interested in an intensive fast-track course
spanning 10-12 days max (something like that of LLC in Bangalore). Please
let me know.

Never mind the placement cell and it's rules. It does not matter.
Don't let it get you down.

The projects you do and things you learn will get you the job.

Just keep yourself upto date with the latest in Linux, dive deep into
the code, understand how it works and more importantly do some work to
prove that you really understand it. It does not matter what project
you contribute to or if you start your own project. Just the
experience of working in the open source community will teach you a
LOT of things.

Subscribe to mailing lists like LKML, Beowulf, etc, read stuff, read
LWN, kernelnewbies, etc, hang out on the IRC channels, interact with
people and help others learn from you as you learn from others.

That exposure will make your resume stand out of the crowd when you
apply to any company.
Plus, you are in Pune. The ideal place for a Linux hacker to be (other
than Bangalore, I guess). There is no dearth of Linux jobs.

I am telling you out of my experience. I did my BE in Electronics from
BVP (before it became deemed) and was not allowed to sit for the
placements. Today, I'm doing pretty well and earn a living hacking the
Linux kernel and am very happy with the work.

So, stay positive. Keep learning. The job will come to you.

Not being part of the placement stuff at college might be something that
leads to peer related stress, but it is certainly not the end of the
world. The important bits here are to figure out what skills you
currently possess and what good developer / programming / administration
habits you have inculcated which companies will find valuable. Being a
good developer / programmer / administrator at any company is as much
skills and competence as it is good habits.

[PLUG] need info on domain registration, hosting and web-dev providers

2004-10-06 Thread Atul Nene
Hi,
A non-profit social service organization that I am
associated with is looking for
1. domain name registration service provider
2. web hosting provider (preferably those that use FLOSS-ware)
3. web development services (FLOSS-ware again)
If anyone has any recommendations of *Pune* based providers
for each of these, kindly let me know on the email address
mentioned below.
Notes : 1. I see this as a way to promote FLOSS ware as well
as keep cost to the organization low.
2. Looking for Pune based organizations/individuals,
so that its more convenient to work with them.
Thanks,
