If that's what you're seeing, then no, this is not by design. Can you
check the server.log file to see whether the plugin is reporting something?

Since updating to the most recent version of iPeng for iPad a day or two
ago I'm having a problem with it not displaying the thumbnails in
Artists/All Albums view. All I get are dark grey, soft edged squares

I'm trying to get Spotify going on a Synology ds214play using Triode's
wonderful plugin. The plugin works well on my Linux machine and it never
worked on my previous ReadyNAS Duo with its SPARC architecture. However,
