I have an insane amount of unrecognized tracks. I know that some files
are not properly tagged, but a lot of them are fine. How can I
troubleshoot this? Why are some properly tagged files not recognised?

Not if you plan is to not have the files on your computer's disc.
Dropbox doesn't allow you to access files from your computer without
downloading them. Eg. you can prevent certain folders from being sync

If I then translate it to the way that your setup is working with
max2play it seems then that it's working because you have enabled smb.
Not sure if i'm right. Maybe flysurfer can add to this?

I'm having some trouble with The Blender. It launches and I can enter
text in the Artist and Description fields and a playlist is generated,
but none of the buttons or sliders work. I can't play or save the mix.
Are the buttons disabled or do they not work? Any error message?
