I replaced the existing gotWeather sub with the new one.

When I installed SC 7.3 I had a problem with an uninitialized value
from another perl module, so my system, for whatever reason, may be
sensitive to uninitialized values.

I was typing up my response and it occurred to me what you mean. The
receiver sees the command from the IR blaster, but the SB3 remote is
creating enough noise that it doesn't repeat correctly.
Makes perfect sense now.

will get the first warning message, then it says
connection failed. If I stop SlimServer I can use Softsqueeze with SSH
with no problem.
Where exactly is the conflict?

in the plugin config page. More work on your end, less on mine. :)
Just a thought, since a macro for the current date doesn't seem to
exist.
