Hi, I'm sorry if the answer to this is already contained within this thread but 93 pages are lot to wade through. ;)
I am running LMS 7.7.5 on a Windows 10 machine with all the drivers etc up to date. It can 'see' my Squeezebox 1 (the original Slim Devices one) just fine and plays perfectly on it. However, I've tried following the CastBridge instructions to the letter and it appears to be running but I just can't get LMS to see either of my Chromecasts (one is a Chromecast Audio connected to my vintage hi-fi, the other is a video Chromecast connected via HDMI to my Sony AV). Before we go any further, are there any log files or other configuration info that I should be posting? The router is a Virgin Media Superhub 2ac and iOS/Android apps have no difficulty finding either Chromecast. The LMS installation is a fresh one. I had not used the Squeezebox for a couple of years since putting a clean install of Windows 8 (and then 10) on my desktop, then reinstated LMS quite recently. I can stream to the Chromecasts using Plex but I find that it transcodes FLAC to a lossy format (and poorly at that), so I would much prefer streaming to them via LMS.
