I have a Debian box running slimserver with AlienBBC installed very
successfully (mostly!). The server runs headless, but with speakers
attached.

I can access and play my CD collection and BBC radio stations (live and
recorded) using remote streaming (softsqueeze or real player, XP or
Vista, local network or over the internet). To play music on the
server, I have a script running mplayer on the server, listening to
stream.mp3, then I just go to the slimserver webpage on my laptop and
select the music I want to play - couple of seconds for the buffering
and that works great!

Problem is - my server will ONLY play CDs. Running mplayer through a
terminal window, the output looks the same for CDs or for a BBC stream
- no errors showing, but slimserver shows the player as "stopped" and
no music sounds for BBC radio.

Everything is the latest version (as through aptitude update) - I'd
appreciate any pointers - let me know if there's more information
needed to comment! Thanks!
