Such a shame. I will keep everything crossed that this is a short term
hiatus before there's a viable solution.
Thank you so much, BPA, for your fantastic and much appreciated

All good things do come to an end, I guess.
Many thanks for all the time it worked so well.

It messed up my BBC local radio schedule generator as well ... so have
had to resort to scraping the web pages.
Was good for approximately nine years though - shame to see it go.

Extras plugin no longer works.

Fwiw as of 27/04/2017 I'm getting "There was an error loading the remote
feed for : (404 Not Found)"
for individual level (a-z) listings.
Just checked this morning and the listings appear to have returned for
BBC iPlayer Extra
Still only the low bit rate listen again streams on BBC iPlayer though

Thanks - that is a good workaround to obtain a DASH stream for last
weeks program.
Unfortunately I was looking to record earlier editions - they did appear
to go back to up to a month via my orginal method of access

Had the same trouble but solved it using bbciplayerextra then national

Well at least (thanks to you, Triode, Mr Herger and other geeks) we are
in with a fighting chance of hanging onto their coat tails.

bpa,
Thanks for confirming.
It's quite frustrating to have streaming utopia, only for it to be
snatched away
Fingers crossed its only a temporary blimp and normal service is

Yes - 404 problem has returned.
Program which I was playing late last night from a menu has now gone.
Interesting is that the 404 only occurs at the program levels - in
previous occurance it was a higher level. This problem is similar to
the BBCiPlayer feed not finding DASH programs.
FYI

I may have been a bit premature as the Extra menus seem to have started
working again for me also.
That said, BBC have made changes to implementation of the web interface
and no longer uses the APIs that Extra plugins uses. The older APIS were
not working this morning are now working. So perhaps

Good.
AFAICT , the BBC have stopped serving up RTMP URLs on web browser
interface and now offer HDS or DASH.
Last year the BBC said they would stop streaming Flash and it looks like
this is the changeover. Users using older (i.e. non HTML5) browser will
still use a Flash plugin and so will

I did a quick check on the R3 Jazz program - all the rtmp URLs have
gone. So for the moment for playing streams using BBCiPlayerExtra make
sure
1. BBCiPlayer On Demand has DASH format included
2. In the BBCiPlayerExtra plugin settings the only check box is clear.

They are as a result of BBC slow migration, mixed uses, mixed sources
and user's feedback who wanted more options.
The BBCiPlayerExtra plugin uses many web browser menus which are
unspported by BBC and so some can go out of date or change without
notice. The BBC web browser only serves up Flash and DASH streams. So
if BBCiPlayer plugin for on demand does not have DASH or Flash/AAC or
BBCiPlayerExtra setting

OK, thanks bpa: I changed the BBC iPlayer settings, On Demand Stream
Preference, to HLS > DASH > MP3 > FlashAAC > FlashMP3, and all seems to
be working now.
Is that the best setting to use? I'm a bit baffled by the long list of

Just checking this out - on-demand set to Dash.
Following the OP's steps -
List headed by "Jazz Library" appears.
Selecting this produces:

All other selections produce further lists

No problem.
For example ...
Click BBC iPlayer Extras
List headed by "Latest by Station" appears.
Click Radio 3 A-Z.
List headed by "A programs" appears.
Click J programs.
List headed by "Jazz Library" appears.
Click Jazz Record Requests.
List headed by "Jazz Record Requests 26/03/2016" appears.
Without details on the menus used and programs selected I cannot do any
more.

Why did you say you are using the non DASH version of the
BBCiPlayerExtra plugin - that is an older version than listed ?
The plugin uses web pages layous and these change sometimes only in one
area.
I'd like to

That "feels" like an out of date plugin but the last change I had to
make to the plugin was back around Nov/Dec'15 so I'mnot sure why
something should break recently.
What version of BBCiPlayer and BBCiPlayerExtra plugin are you running ?
Apologies, bpa, for not clarifying the problem.
In all cases, I get to the list of shows, I click on a show, the display
appears to show the usual connection, but no sound.
I just tried to play a couple of R3 shows, and the log has this ...

Sorry, It's not clear what's not working.
Do you fail to get a list of the shows ?
or
Do you get a list of the shows and when you try to play any of them they
don't play ?
Any messages
Bpa ...
I get shows from today. Fail.
Schedules fail, categories fail, A-Zs fail.
The "On Demand Stream Preference" in the BBCiPlayer plugin reads HLS >
MP3 > FlashAAC > Flash MP3.
The only general change on my Mac recently has been that I've updated
from OSX El Capitan 10.11.3 to 10.11.4.
