I'm using 6.5, you may need to add a PostInit in FreeNAS to get SlimNAS
up and running. It sounds like a similar problem.

How is you HDD formatted ?
Mine was formatted in NTFS but I newer got it to work - has to change
it to EXT3.

I'm running softraid so the disk's are formated with that and the
mountpoint with UFS as the FreeNAS documentation states.
