Aaah - that explains everything. Works ok with Softsqueeze. Was
just checking it out with Winamp prior to buying a Squeezebox. Many

Alien is specifically designed to not work with external players using
the stream.mp3 url. Does it work with softsqueeze or a squeezebox?

slimserver.

Sounds like it - can the user slimserver runs as (normally slimserver)
access and run mplayer and mplayer.sh?
