Thanks Erland, I forget I have the scrobbling switched off at home!
I've posted a new version 1.2.8 that fixes this bug and possibly restores the
controller menu.
The repository is updated so this should appear as an update in SqueezeCenter.

There is a reference to it in my 1.2.7 version in Scrobbler.pm, I also
checked the 1.2.7 version on sourceforge and it seems to also contain a
reference to durationSecs.
