what are the limitations of streaming remotely using the helper app?

The limitations are that you can't do it except with a VPN.
Spotify certainly won't allow openly re-streaming their content after
it's decrypted so this is probably how it's got to be.

Just a short note to thank Triode for the Spotify Plugin which I have
just successfully commissioned on LMS feeding four Duet players.
Got error messages until I setup the plugin as instructed and re-started
a couple of times. I can now play my BBC Playlister through the
Squeezebox, not just

You need to use a VPN for this. The plugin won't stream to IP address
outside your network's

I have that port mapped already in fact i can stream local sources
remotely. I believe you ve setup a VPN which I haven t. I am trying to
stream to a player that has an address on a remote network, not the same
as in your case (remote but same VPN).

You are missing port 3483 TCP
I can confirm Triode's Spotify will stream remotely provided you have
the bandwidth. I have a site 2 site router 2 router VPN which works

Let me describe my system then point my present issue:
I have been using Squeezeboxes for ages now. I have a working multi-room
setup with 1 Transporter, 1 SB Classic and 1 SB Radio with Ipeng remote.
I additionally use Ipeng as both remote and Playback device when I am
