I've been out of the loop recently so have no idea when this problem may
have emerged but now, when I try to play BBC podcasts via the logitech
podcasts app or using my own favourites selection based on the opml file
generated within mysqueezebox, I get the following error:
Error HTTP/1.0 400
But if you already have a NAS consider keeping the files there and
running LMS on a Pi but with the storage on the NAS. Provided both are
wired it works well.

Thanks for the quick reply gharris999.
Don't know what I was doing wrong then
Sounds like pursuing it any further will be beyond my very limited OSX
abilities :D
Looked a nice plugin, was impressed the way the help suggestions were
user tailored.

Yes Apple has recently decided to break some assumptions that are still
valid on all other OSes...
What they've done is not silly, though. They have integrated in their
wifi routers (and appleTVs, AFAIK) a sleep proxy server that is there to
register services (let's say: a network file share)

Okay - dev installed. AAC codec added to config.

You can, but use sq2u Dev version - I've made improvement to AAC support
that might be needed. AAC support is still a bit wobbly

What aac file types have you got configured in 'file types'?
LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit,

Should be OK as far as that is concerned. For reasons I don't recall
now my aac to mp3 conversion is disabled, but for the Flow you may well
need the mp3 conversion, even though the Flow says it supports aac.
When I added aac to my codecs
I read on the Odroid site that the USB-SPDIF peripheral is only useable
through XBMC! It appears that there is a passthrough option in XMBC but
does this mean audio can be pushed through to LMS?

to connect using SPDIF to my

It seems to be working quite a bit better with Qobuz and classical music
ever since Michael added that little line to identify the "Artist" as
"Composer" as well.
It still occasionally gives me terrible keyboard arrangements or popped
up classics, but only rarely. This is a shortcoming of TEN
In case someone else has same problem in future, apparently wget can
mangle install file when downloading file directly to raspi.
Downloading from another machine and transferring file to raspi will
avoid problem.

It runs fine on qnap. They pulled it due to a security exposure but
it's easy fixable - just not part of the STD build anymore. You can do
a manual install (of the qnap build) and upgrade to latest SB. Or
odroid / pi work fine - I have one with ssd for music. Much better than
PC.

A few takeaways from the log
- the player does not seem to accept any volume command of any kind:
this is strange, is it expected ?
mentioned problems with classical music and smartmix a while back;
here's a particularly egregious example.
