Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
Would creating a new updated "LmsUpdate" be as simple as extracting the content of current LmsUpdate and replace a specific set of folders and files with similar from one of the "official" (community) nightly build archives - and pack it together again? I do indeed believe that this would be about it. But looking at the download page I was wondering whether we really need dozens of different packages, or whether one could do. Because it seems like a bit of a busy task doing them all. Add to this the fact that our build system has been in trouble for several days now. I will look into it asap. But it's definitely aging... I'll be spending time trying to keep the status quo alive, rather than adding new stuff :-(. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
Functionnaly, spotty works on lmsrepack (DS916+ 8GB). But it seems the system is very very slow to react (via web interface or iPeng). Sometimes, all players vanished from iPeng and music stops, and restart 30' later. Please uninstall all 3rd party plugins. Then try again: if it still doesn't work, come back. If it does, re-enable one plugin after the other. Until it starts to fail again. Then try without the last plugin you added. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)
Hi, I have a Russound xzone4 system that has separate streams each with its own airplay with 13 in total. I'm trying to use the LMS installed on my synology diskstation to use Spotty, LMS and this airplay bridge to have multiroom audio with Spotify. I have everything installed and have gotten it to work but have run across a few issues. The first is that after some time if not used the airplay renderers disappear. In the log it will say something like renderer disconnected renderer removed for each of them. The only way to bring them back is to restart LMS. The other issue I'm seeing is related to album coverart when using spotty. I have Russound XTS keypads around the house that will display the metadata and coverart for the song being played. Sometimes the coverart will display and sometimes it won't depending on what song I choose. What is odd is if I use the Russound app or the LMS app on my iphone the coverart is displayed properly for all songs. I can see on the keypad that its trying to display the coverart (quick little loading circle) but a lot of the times it fails and just puts up a music note in its place. The other metadata is there though. If I use the spotify app directly and use spotify connect or airplay this issue doesn't exist. Any help would be really appreciated. DASH and HLS are chunked http (mulitple sequentlalhttp GETs each about 6.4 secs long) which make them a bit more diffiuclt to handle than normal http/acc streams. When a streamn is paused - the actual time-of-day has to be remembered as chunks are rleated to time-of-day. So as it stand when a stream is paused - no more GET s are used but plugin remembers the pause position and goes a refetches the nearest chunk to the pause time. However DASH does not support metdata so the plugin is mashup fetching metadata from other sources which do ot dstay around - info only valid at the time of fetch so if stream is paused - no data is availbale. In summary. when a tsream is paused. No resoruces are really used except very 30 secs a fetch to meetadat which is a small amunt of data. LMS wastes far more data polling the players even though they are off. The issue here is that a live DASH stream which is paused for more than 3 hours (actually BBC defined - only 10 mins for Flac streams) cannot be restarted - you cannot press play and expect the stream to play at the point which play was stopped. So it is better in this case just to stop the stream. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hello I succesfuly insyalled spotty on LMS (Synology DS916). It works fine with iPend and Squeezeox interface. If I use my spotify iOS client, I don't see my different SB players (Pi, etc...). Hi - Not sure if this is possible to control within the plugin, but would it be possible to always "Stop" a Live Stream (thus avoiding collecting metadata and freeing up resources) but honour the Players' Pause / Stop preference for On Demand at "Power Off"? I like being able to resume On Demand programmes at the point I left them, which seems to work well with the current Pause at Power Off setting. 4x Slim Devices SB3 (White) 1x Boom, 1x Radio 1x Joggler + Squeezeplay / Squeezelite + Topping TP30 florca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7486 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

First of all, I have no knowledge about Debian, Synology DSM, SPK packages or Perl. Nor any knowledge on the architecture of LMS, and only very little Linux knowledge. I must also admit that I haven't found/read the other threads you refer to. But I have downloaded and extractet content and "sub-content" (tar and tgz archives) of LmsUpdate for my NAS (http://server.pinkdot.nl/sspks/packages/LmsUpdate-x86_64-7.9.1-1503129892.spk) and done the same thing for various unix/Debian nightly build packages on http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.9 to take a closer look and compare content. And I see similarities. Would creating a new updated "LmsUpdate" be as simple as extracting the content of current LmsUpdate and replace a specific set of folders and files with similar from one of the "official" (community) nightly build archives - and pack it together again? I fully respect a simple short "No" as an answer, if it ain't that simple :-) I did get an error creating "symbolic link" when extracting some of the sub-packages on my Windows PC. Our posts have crossed as I edited the porevious posts. The issue is due to pressing "power off" - I think with your settng the Radio just pauses - the power button did not stop a stream nor power off the Radio - which "other people" might not understand. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The log message in this routine is in reply to a LMS request to display metadata. So LMS does not think the stream has stopped and radio is off (i.e. paused). A few months ago, another user had this issue a while ago but the message occurred when the radio was turned on after being off. From the log are the messages continuously or did they start at some point in the night ? What were you playing Stream or On-Demand ?
