I will give it a try when I'm back. BTW, do you use the stable or the
dev version of the plugin. I've made a few key improvements in the
latest dev that make it much more stable in my environment (difficult
wifi connectivity and most of players). Have you seen a change?

You mean you do not want to run a LMS server? I'm not sure, but because
it is seen as a squeezelite instance, if squeezelite can be used in
mysqueezebox, then it will work as well. You need to launch ´manually'
the binary application, but it's made to run on any computer,
independently from LMS. The UI in LMS is just here to edit the config
file in a more user friendly way

You might try waiting a few minutes before clicking on "Click here to
restart the server" dialog - it may not have completed downloading the
updated plugin file before you restart. If that still doesn't work, you
can turn-on additional logging within LMS to try to see what's going
wrong.

Just to inform that I don't have performance problems anymore. I didn't

What I meant was - something between source and icecast/liquidsoap or
bertween icecast and liquidsoap - I don't use these so I don't know the
audio path.

It is unlikley the dsnoop device is already in use (how did you specify
which device you are snooping on ?) which means the "busy" is due to
some other sort of error or parameter mismatch or perhaps permissions -
however I don't know Alsa in that level of detail.

This would be a way, but not a fully automatic one. I even found a
(German language) 'How-to'
that explaines how playing a prepared mp3 file (extra information in the
meta data) in MPD can be used to shutdown the raspi. But what I was
looking for was a fully automatic way - you put the record to play, go
to the place where you are listening and can forget about shutting down
the Raspi - until you need it again perhaps two weeks later.

I simply direct LMS (via iPeng) to a special m3u-playlist stored in LMS'
playlist folder that directs to the Icecast stream on the phono Raspi
("IP-ADDRESS"):

Code:

#CURTRACK 0
  #EXTM3U
  #EXTURL:http://IP-ADDRESS:8000/phono
  #EXTINF:-1,Phono
  http://IP-ADDRESS:8000/phono

I understood that it's dsnoop that allows two simultaneous recordings
from the same capture device (which is what I would need to go the sox
way). But I get the same "busy" message using dsnoop instead of hw:1,0

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux

2017-10-25 Thread streampunk

Good morning,
Perhaps I'm going slightly OT, but as I suppose that you audio
specialist here are familiar with my question, I'll try it here: Now
that the phono streaming to LMS is working, I'm looking for a way to
have a clean shutdown (as opposed to simply switch of the power) of the
Raspi Zero once there is no significant audio signal on the line in of
the sound card, for example 15 minutes after the last vinyl record
reached its end. Significant in the sense of music, because I suppose
that, having an analogue source, there will always be some basic noise
or humming, even when no record is playing.
I've been browsing throug the alsa utils and alsa tools, but didn't find
a tool to detect and/or measure the audio level on the sound card.
What I did find is sox beeing used to detect audio (for example
http://thomer.com/howtos/detect_sound.html). But it seems that sox
analyzes a 5-second-recording, and my Linux skills aren't even
sufficient for analyzing whether sox could also detect an Icecast stream
or LiquidSoap's output, let alone how.
As I don't want to re-invent the wheel and was thinking that there might
have been others resolving this kind auf auto standby/shutdown: Do you
have any hints for me?
Thanks & best regards
Martin

No, but I will give it a try. I guess it affect other sources like
internet radio to.

I think the problem is that Spotify has "disabled" the Volume
normalization option on all devices (the API Spotty use?, CCA, Sonos)
except from "hardware" implemented Connect.

For example, the option is there then using Spotify Connect on my Audio
Pro C5 but not then using CCA.

Streaming Spotify to CCA is a lot louder than other sources to and the
