I bet that means that you have to install some OGG/Vorbis libraries. But
that's beyond my scope. Check with the BSD community.

You could certainly transfer it using Samba, but unlikely put it in the
right place.

I've uploaded a small plugin "SpottyV2Bin". Use

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-02-25 Thread Michael Herger

The connect functionality works rather well. It is just that whenever I
reboot the computer, or even stop and start LMS, the " Don't announce"
option is ticked again, and my Squeezebox does not show up in Spotify.
Apparently the option is not stored in the plug-in settings.
Is this by design?

It is stored. But if it's set, then it's set because the announcement
mode caused too many crashes. If you remove the flag, it would go
through a bunch of crashes again before the plugin decided to disable
the feature again.

play my playlists in reverse? I like to play the recent additions first.
The Spotify app on iphone has a setting.

If you enable it in the app, wouldn't it play that way in Connect mode?
I wouldn't know of any way in LMS mode (unless, of course, I implement
that feature...).

And the rest of this post: I got my Squeezebox a few months ago. That
led to a hifiberry running max2play. I use a desktop to host my LMS and
I use the web interface and iPeng to control the players. I had read
some of these posts and tried to understand how to get Spotty running
with my setup. But today was the first time that I actually looked into
the interface and tried to check the right boxes. I was shocked when it
took only a few minutes. I see people selling their squeezeboxes on ebay
and craiglist because of no spotify support. Hah.

Thank you!

Yes, it is :-). A lot is going on currently in the librespot project.
There have been so many code changes recently, it's hard to keep up with
them... That said, I do have a working Spotty build using these recent

Could be the case. I'm sure I had 8.4.37.587 working perfectly, it
doesn't anymore.

Furthermore (nothing to do with this issue though), the Spotify
accouncement that removed all Pioneer devices from spotify connect?
Software "fix". .587 still shows my pioneer receiver, later versions
don't even show it anymore.

2018-02-25 Thread Fahzz

Maybe I can help someone having dificulty with setting up a Sambashare
with Max2Play. I recently purchased an Allo Digione Player, and
connected an external hard drive to the unt.

When I set up Max2Play with SqueezeLite, I changed the player name from
the default to "SqueezeBox" or something similar in the basic settings
section. The music played fine, but I couldn't get a Sambashare for
access to the files on the external HDD to work.

This morning, on a hunch, I changed the player name back to "Max2Play"
rebooted and used the default terms for setup of the network share as
stated at the bottom of the filesystem mount page, saved it, added a
password, saved again.

Problem solved! Love the Digione Player by the way.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-02-25 Thread TonioRoffo

Not entirely sure if this is a spotty problem (I don't have hardware
"connect" devices to test with)

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1511211491 @ Tue Nov 21 09:20:44
UTC 2017
Player: Player Model: SqueezeLite - Player Type: squeezelite -
Firmware: v1.8.7-1020

Since Android Spotify Spotify Music 8.4.38.621 I'm having a problem
where:

* I can connect to an LMS player
* Play a track
* After a while/after track change - spotify android no longer indicates
playing/time updates.
* I can still change tracks, they will play
* I can't seek in tracks.
* Controlling from LMS (track skip) works, but android no longer updates
the track information

But worst problem - once in this state, I can't disconnect spotify from
the player - the "Connect to a device" menu keeps telling me "Start
playing some music to connect to a device" and stays stuck being
connected to the LMS player.

Only solution is to:

* delete cache/settings on the android app
* connect with a desktop version of spotify, choose the android device
as playback, disconnect again

Tried android beta versions up to Spotify Music 8.4.42.722 from
APKmirror - same problem

Could repeat the issue on two devices (wife's phone, other spotify
account)

All works perfectly, controlling spotify connect from the Win32 client

Please inform what you need from me for debugging.

Thanks & regards.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-02-25 Thread ustinov

I am running Spotty 2.1.9 with LMS 7.9.1 on Windows 7.
The connect functionality works rather well. It is just that whenever I
reboot the computer, or even stop and start LMS, the " Don't announce"
option is ticked again, and my Squeezebox does not show up in Spotify.
Apparently the option is not stored in the plug-in settings.
Is this by design?

I deleted all preference files and setup LMS again, but the problem
persists. Strange enough I still can connect with Spotify accounts that
do not show up in the Spotty settings. So something of the plugin/Spotty
preferences were left behind it seems.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-02-25 Thread Wigster

Hi,

Just wanted to say that everything works here. Running LMS on Windows
with Spotty 2.1.9 and squeezelite players on RPIs. Spotify Connect,
multiple accounts, pausing etc, at least those features which I use.

Thanks a lot for making this happen!

I know the lms_mixcloud plugin quite well, because I also maintain the
up-to-date version at https://github.com/danielvijge/lms_mixcloud The
version you can download in the default repos is this one.
I looked at seeking quite a lot, but I can never get it to work. Even if
the track is an MP3, that is cached from an online location. Perl and
LMS are a bit too much of a black art for me to really debug this. I
just do what I can to keep the code working.

My patch: 'Reduce brightness when screen saver is active'
(http://server.vijge.net/squeezebox/) for Touch
Source code: 'GitHub' (https://github.com/danielvijge) for SqueezeCloud,
Mixcloud, 22tracks and YouTube (old version)

The player with firmware 40 is a SB1 which cannot play AAC natively and
cannot play Flac so AAC is transcoded into 48KHz PCM which has no header
so SB1 plays it has 44.1Khz. I'm not clear what you are talking about
wrt Spotty as this a BBCiPlayer thread.

That is the problem and has been true for all files & stream 48kHz AAC
on SB1 - not just BBCiPlayer and known for a long time (
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?6405-48KHz-playback )

AFAICT no solution has been posted over the years.

The only solution I can think of is to add sox in the "AAC-> PCM"
trasncoding for SB1 to ensure a 44.1kHz but this will put a load on the
LMS processor.
No details on your LMS server - so the following is for a Linux based
server.
If lines below are edited to use correct MAC address (i.e. replace with
AMAC of your SB1) and then saved in a custom-convert.conf file (make
sure tabs are saved as tabs and not spaces) in the same directory as the
LMS convert.conf file then after LMS restart LMS will always convert AAC
streams to the device with MAC address into 44.1Khz streams.

MAC address of player can be found in LMS WebUI Setting/Information tab
or on label of player.

Code:

  aac pcm * aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff
# IF
[faad] -q -w -f 1 -b 1 $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav $FILE$ -t raw -r 44100
-c 2 -2 -s -

In theory for all SB1 type devices - the following would work.

Code:

  aac pcm Squeezebox *
# IF
[faad] -q -w -f 1 -b 1 $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav $FILE$ -t raw -r
44100 -c 2 -2 -s -

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2018-02-25 Thread Mnyb

IPeng shows wrong random playlist for the current player .?

Yes web UI and iPeng show different playlist , what iPeng shows is some
mixup off what i’m Browsing part of the real playlist and some random
stuff ?

And the playlist is very short . Not at all as the current playlist for
my player ?

LMS web UI has the correct list all the time .

If I add more stuff the list get correct again or if kill iPeng
completely and restart .

Suppose this happens when iPeng has been in the background in the
background.

This is not new but today it was more prevalent than usual , I’ve seen
similar things in the past the wrong covers have temporarily been in the
playlist but it fixed itself in seconds
