This is what I was afraid of... I get so close to what I want on all of
them. Since the spotify integration is so good i may just no longer use
spotify client.

Again, what I was wanting was Player1, Player2 and Player1/2 as connect
devices.

I'm going to also test Moode as a client only since it has separate
spotify connect.

Server Settings => Advanced => Spotty...then tick/check players you
would like to use as Connect .. Apply

You can also sync both and you will only see Player1/Player2 as one
Connect device. I guess alternatively you could use Group "Player"..
With Software playersPi you will probably need tweak sync

Thank you for the reply, that is really cool and will be useful to me

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2020-07-18 Thread randy5419

I’m not sure if this is the right thread to make this suggestion.
Having recently installed Spotty 4.0, I find that Spotify Albums do not
integrate with my local LMS music library if the artist tags do not
exactly accord with how Spotify does them. For example my artist tags
(artist, artist sort, and album artist) for the “The Doors” are all the
same, and are “Doors, The”. If I add a Doors album in my Spotify
library, it is listed in my Library under the Artist “The Doors.” Hence
I now have two artist entries for The Doors. Similarly for the Artist
Tori Amos. My local library artist tags are “Amos, Tori”. But a Tori
Amos album in Spotify is listed under the artist “Tori Amos”.

I would think it would be possible for the plugin to check to see how
artists are tagged in the local library, and then insert the Spotify
albums into the library accordingly. But maybe that would be hard.

Jaca,

A very belated thank you for your very helpful reply. After some
experimentation, I think I now understand how to use Spotty 4.0. Part
of what confused me is that Spotty did not show up under "My Apps." I'm
guessing that was because I hadn't restarted LMS server after I
installed the plugin, as it is in My Aps now.

Thanks again!

It should not have disappeared from the list, you probably want to retry
a few times (sourceforge, where I host the plugin, is dead slow). Other
than that, maybe due to the long inactivity, your key has been disabled,
even the project might have suspended. Google does that more and more
often. I would recommend you create a new project/key

Hi Philippe,

Many thanks for the YouTube plugin - I've been using it for a year or so
already on my raspberry pi based 'Max2play' squeezelite server and it's
been fine.

However, I just returned to the country after being locked out for 6
months due to covid and discovered that the plugin had disappeared from
my 3rd party plugins list. Anyhow, I downloaded the plugin from your
Github page and ssh transferred the plugin to my little server and set
it up as advised.

I use Orange Squeeze as the client on my phone and when I open the app I
can see - and play my YouTube account playlists. I can also see the
artwork thumbnails on the playlist thread but as soon as I select a
track or playlist to play, I can hear the audio but there's just a
generic 'YouTube' jpg displayed instead of the artwork that I always
used to see.

Have you any suggestions on how to overcome this?

I also note that whilst I can see my created playlists, I can no longer
search within the app on my phone for search strings to find videos to
stream the audio of - it just returns 'empty' as the result. I've
attached some screencaps to demonstrate the above points.

Kind regards,

Chris

Hello, I am just learning everything with LMS and PiCorePlayer. I have
spotty setup and working, however, I have 2 sets of speakers (Kitchen
and Patio). Ultimately what I would like is to send to either or both
using Spotify connect. If I select them both then spotty just makes a

Perhaps I'm wanting too much and not understanding how it works. I

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS

2020-07-18 Thread philchillbill

FYI, I've been testing a beta with 13 new intents that address all the
feature requests (I think) made by the community in recent months. It
will soon be submitted to Amazpn for certification but I wanted to give
a heads up. The possibilities include:

* Play or Stream a *specific* version of a song from a -named album-.
The current 'play song XXX by YYY' plays -all- versions in your library
so if you have a lot of live albums you might get 20-30 hits. This
narrows it down to a specific album hit only.
* *Append* a named song or songs to the end of the *now-playing
*playlist. Can be either all versions of the song or a version from a
specific album.
* *Insert* a named song or songs to *play next* within the current
now-playing playlist.
* *Clear* the current playlist.
* Query what *alarms* exist for a particular player.
* *Enable* or *Cancel* an existing alarm.
* *Modify* an existing alarm by changing its set-time and also enabling
it if it was disabled. "Alexa, ask MediaServer to change my 07:30 alarm
to 08:00"

Any other new features that I might have missed and could potentially
include in the certification submission?

Don't you think that whatever info MS want they could just get from your

Good point regarding certificates.
I used LetsEncrypt for my non-ngrok connection.
But with the new-ish automatic updater mechanism now for the

You should not have seen a uuid at all during linking if not using ngrok
and to be honest I do not see a uuid in your oauth token. You are
getting a HTTP 400 Bad Request error when discovery is attempted. This
is almost always down to Amazon not liking your SSL certificate for some
reason. You can reach LMS from the browser no problem and you also
reached it from my ISP when you were told that it responded correctly
with version 7.9.2. This gives the impression that the proxy is working.
However, getting it working to Amazon's standards is a different thing
altogether. The skill logs are full of errors with people doing there
own proxies while ngrok users almost never have an error.

When Alexa started the Discovery process that should have resulted in a
new dialogue over your reverse proxy link. Does Alexa now show the skill
as linked? If yes, ask Alexa to Discover again and watch for new traffic
in reverse proxy logs (both traffic and error).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2020-07-18 Thread Hughby

Michael,
Long time user here. Not sure if this is related to the 'Spotty stops
playing' issue we've all been seeing (and the recent posts by @Laz and
@Slartibartfast) but after some experimentation I have a 'stops playing'
problem that is reproducible (for me at least!) and seems to occur on
short tracks.

My system details are listed below along with a server log. During this
log I was playing spotify:album:2J45fW4MpzNFwfSvnilbug and I was using a
Windows Spotify client to play music on a Squeezebox.

I enabled Info logging at about 13:08:42 and started track 8 on the
album
At around 13:11:33 play advances normally to track 9
At around 13:13:13 which is at the point Spotty should be getting ready
to play track 10 the Windows client 'looses connection' - ie the green
highlight dissapears. Track 10 is played by LMS but the Spotify client
knows nothing about it. Play stops at the end of track 10.
Attempts to reconnect the Spotify client to the player cause a flash of
green highlight and an immediate lost connection. There is no log entry
when this happens but using a terminal connection you can see the
relevant Spotty helper process die and then get restarted some time
later (which you do see in the log).
To get things going again I use the Windows client to advance (and
locally play a few seconds of) a track I know works. Selecting the
player then works and we're back to normal.
The problem tracks all appear to be short (less than 1:30) - not sure if
that's relevant

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LMS-lite certified Smart Home skill for Alexa

2020-07-18 Thread GeoffSoord

Hi, I am trying to use IIS as a reverse proxy. I can confirm that I can
browse to my LMS instance from outside of my LAN.

Enabling the skill 'LMS-lite' on Alexa is fine. 'Press to Validate'
responses with 'your LMS server (v7.9.2) responded correctly'.

I also see ' Please make a copy of the ngrok autoupdate key before
submitting' - as I am not running ngrok I have no key to make a copy
of.

'Submit' responds with 'LMS-lite has been successfully linked'.

Discovering devices in Alexa does not display and of my Squeezebox
players. I can confirm that my Squeezebox players are on and are display
on the LMS home page.

Looking in the IIS logfile only one request is present. This is:
#Software: Microsoft Internet Information Services 10.0
#Version: 1.0
#Date: 2020-07-18 12:37:04
#Fields: date time s-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem cs-uri-query s-port

185.27.142.89 - - 200 0 0 35

192.168.15.199 is the internal address for my LMS server.

If this something beyond the scope of LMS-Lite or user error on my
part?

Thanks in advance.

2020-07-18 Thread Laz

The tracks in pink flag are quite a lot longer than the Eilish and
Beatles tracks. Maybe spotify handles very short tracks differently?

I did try that but remained the same.

Just decided to delete the yamaha from the the upnp tab and reloaded and
it works again.:)

Yup - same error with librespot. I also ran spotty manually and it
crashed as well. Both were OK on the previous track.

Code:

thread '' panicked at 'called `Result::unwrap()` on an `Err`
value: ChannelError', src\libcore\result.rs:997:5
note: Run with `RUST_BACKTRACE=1` environment variable to display a backtrace.

I'd assume this is the same underlying librespot issue based on the
ChannelError.

Good thinking! No it doesn't - and we also get a useful error:

Code:

[2020-07-18T07:35:56Z INFO  librespot_playback::player] Loading
with Spotify URI
  [2020-07-18T07:35:56Z DEBUG librespot_audio::fetch] Downloading file

unexpectedly.
[2020-07-18T07:35:56Z TRACE librespot_connect::spirc] Sending status to

I'm seeing this with both IOS and Windows apps.

So it looks like it may be two different (but probably related problems)
- one in spotty and one in librespot.

Michael - I'm happy to raise this as an issue for librespot, but it's
probably worth waiting until you've done your own digging on spotty. Let
me know how you'd like me to run with this.

Cheers,

Larry
