SLX's setting overrides (and actually removes) the default player setting in material skin in order to prevent the two from conflicting with each other. When you start SLX it should automatically select the player according to that setting in SLX. That said, I have noticed that when the server is restarted while SLX is running, for example when you update a plugin, the SLX may come back with another player selected. So that part is not intended, so I need to fix it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Long time user of SQ-X with Material skin. In SQ-X settings, player "bedroom" is selected in the dropdown box, this is the player I wish to control 99% of the time. 31227 In Material > Manage Players, I select player "bedroom" as the default player (whatever that means), by putting a tick in the pop-up box, this adds a tick next to the player name. 31228 However, if I refresh the page (F5), restart SQ-X, or restart LMS after a plugin or software update, the default setting is lost. This doesn't happen using Material skin in a normal browser window, here the setting persists. 31229 This very often results in me starting another player playing without realizing I am no longer controlling the bedroom player, which isn't very wife friendly. Bug-fix release, main changes: - Translation updates. - Map icon for Sprocket plugin. - Fix mapping of mysqueezebox.com apps when using local LMS image proxy. - Update rating display if current setting, or calculated value, differs from previous. - Allow to set custom actions for now-playing cover context menu. - Add action to 'Zap' play queue items. - Don't close 'More' list when clicking radio stream skip actions. - When saving the queue, don't use error text colour to indicate that a playlist with that name exists - looks odd if saving queue to its existing name. - Show name of currently loaded playlist in queue view. - Refresh 'New Music' after scan complete. *Material debug:* 1. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
Good Afternoon. Have just purchased a DS220+ and want to put LMS8 on it so I can carry on playing music via my BOOM's. Following your instructions at the start of this thread, I have: 1. Installed PERL 2, In Package Centre Settings, Set Trust Level To 'Any Publisher' and added a package source of "Logitech Media Server" at a location of https://pinkdot.myds.me/sspks/ 3. As predicted, a 'Community' tab has appeared in the Package Centre. >From your notes, I would expect it to show an LMS package which I could then install. However, instead, it is totally blank! This sounds like the same sort of problem that Jacob was experiencing a couple of posts previously so any advice you can give would be much appreciated. The NAS is brand-new, based in the UK on my house local [windows] network and has no packages other than File Station, OAuth Service and PERL installed. It is configured as a 2-disk RAID SHR, using btrfs file system. The only change from the default set-up is that I have shifted from using DHCP to a Static IP plus have created 1 Storage pool, 1 volume and 2 shared folders. The DMS version is the latest i.e. v6.2.3-25426 Update 2. Since the above config is about as vanilla as it gets. I'd appreciate any thoughts as to why the LMS8 package is not showing up in the repo Many thanks enz01's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41282 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111876 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
Thanks again bpa, much appreciated! Just as an update, I updated to the latest Readynas OS (6.10.3) and LMS survived, which was a good start. I then updated LMS via SSH (had some issues with leafp2p but managed to sort them), so I am now on a more recent version, although I'm still getting the "Plugins::BBCiPlayer::BBCOnAir::__ANON__ (236) error fetching RadioPlayer BBC data while playing so try fetching again" errors. New version is: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.3 - 1596358162 @ Mon Aug 3 04:16:18 CEST 2020 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux Perl Version: 5.20.2 - arm-linux-gnueabi-thread-multi-64int Audio::Scan: 0.95 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.002 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) Total Players Recognized: 1 I now see IO::Socket:SSL, although I can see it is quite an old version. Perl is still old, as is SQLite. I'm not sure how to update these as I think they are part of the Readynas OS - if I try to update via apt it says they are on the latest version. This might be the repository I'm using, although I'm not very experienced with this stuff. I also read some warnings that Perl shouldn't be updated as it might break something in the Readynas OS itself, so if an updated version is needed for LMS a parallel version should be installed. All a bit too complicated for me, so I've decided to stick with LMS on my Raspberry PI as the primary server, and have the Readynas as a backup. It still plays iPlayer streams, and that is the main thing! Thanks all for the help! slurmsmckenzie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Are you seriously saying that there is a difference in SQ dependant upon what device / hardware you use for a server? All it is doing is delivering a stream of 1s and 0s to a player!? Yes a server has to be sufficiently specÂ’d to deliver an uninterrupted constant stream but all of the SQ variance is at the player end. To suggest otherwise contradicts the binary nature of the digital delivery - 1s and 0s. There is never a 0.5 at play. d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112693 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Raspberry Pi Model 4 Memory Options for PiCorePlayer and LMS Server or Just Player
I am making this comment becuase it is what i have found to be the case and at least one other user has confirmed the same findings . If you are going to use a Raspberry Pi 4 as a stand alone LMS which i have done starting off with Raspberry Pi A and upgraded as new ones come along then please check on that the the Pi 4 you get is the latest version as there have been quite a few firmware changes since release. The current Pi 4 sounds better than any of the other Pi incarnations I have used . This better sound quality is quieter back ground , better seperation of instruments , increased image quality and bass in paticular becomes more textured and seperated . It is now much easier to hear in to the music . Now I know the above is proabaly not what many believe and in truth until I was forced to change my Pi4 4gb because a PSU destroyed it for a new 8 gb unit i would not have believed it either . However I used the same Raspberry Pi white standard PSU and the same Max2play loaded SD card from the destryoed Pi 4 4gb straight in to the 8 gb unit and the uplift in sound quality was very obvious on all players in the system . Now my 4gb unit was one of the very first bought the same day it launched and has been in place since then . Sound quality was always good but in truth no difference to the Pi3 I had used before that . However is was quicker and smoother in response. The change i made was not for any idea of better sound quality and aside from the updates to the Pi 4 board I have no clue why it should sound better but it does. I first thought this was just the increase in RAM to 8 gb giving head roo for the system but the other user who found the same only used a Pi 4 2gb but also got the increase in sound quality that i have noted. I honestly have not explanation and understand if anyone is sceptical . Truth is now my systems around the house sound better than ever and the better the system the more they have improved so I am just delighted and will offer this as an opinion only that I would reccomend others to try .
