Hey all, -Long -time Squeezbox user but brand new to the Spotty plugin and I have a couple newbie questions. I've got it enabled, but I don't see anything on my Touch that would indicate that Spotify is available. I'm not sure what the UI is for this...where do I find Spotify access? Also, I'm seeing this in my log: Code: [21-07-09 10:39:26.5499] Plugins::Spotty::API::Token::_killTokenHelper (179) Token refresh call helper has closed unexpectedly? - Please consider re-setting your Spotify credentials should this happen all the time. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
A small observation on the progress indicator in the taskbar icon... If you minimise the Squeezlite-X session (ie. use the control in the Squeezlite window title bar to make the player smaller), the status indicator in the taskbar icon disappears. Not sure if this is intentional? Other than that, a nice feature, thanks. location 1: lms 8.2 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.2 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I also tried out larynx. Great quality of the generated audio file, lots of languages and voices - but very slow (too slow for my Raspberry...). Yes, following media keys make intuitive sense. If they are off, then it would default to the local player if enabled the browser player otherwise. I decided to add the player name to the hint/hover popup, and now I'm wondering if it might make even more sense to just show the player in the taskbar button rather than the track title. Still thinking about that. Yes, when you close the main window (when Allow Run in Background is enabled), the taskbar icon no longer exists. But minimizing to the taskbar still keeps the taskbar alive. This is also the case when you open the minibrowser (since it closes the main window). So progress metering does not work for the minibrowser (at least not yet). Right now, I don't have a good way to detect when the player is changed when using Material Skin, so I have to poll and I would rather avoid that. With the default skin, I get an event that fires from the browser when a cookie changes, but Material Skin does not use cookies and now event fires that tells me the player selection has changed. I'll keep thinking/working on it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LMS Announce - play announcements / notifications
I played around with the plugin. Very nice! I would be interested regarding your experience with different tts engines. I started with espeak - very fast, but also very robotic sound. German voice support seems ok. I then tested the German mbrola files for espeak, which give better results, especially mb-de-4 to 7. I think the output here is acceptable (not perfect of course). After this I compiled mimic. Not as fast as espeak. Main problem currently for me is, that I cannot find a German voice. Using the built-in voice (I used default, rms & slt) is inferior to the German mbrola voices with espeak. All together, espeak with mbrola is easy to install (already included in the repos) and gives good results. Mimic needs to be compiled and gives bad results for me because of lack of German voice. Does anyone know if there is a German voice anywhere for mimic? Which engines do you use? I think, technical issues around timing aside as that's beyond me, following the media key settings in the app is the best way, so if they are "Auto" then follow the current selected player, or a specific one if not etc. This also then feeds back to the user if they press "Next" on their keyboard the taskbar updates. "The law of least astonishment" and all that. The truncation of the test is OK with me, it's just a "hint" after all. Also worth mentioning in any docs that if the app is running minimised then the taskbar goes quiet - I think that's a Windows limitation anyway. Don't want to push it, but perhaps an > option to put current track title in the tray label - but that would > hide the app name? I'm experimenting with this. The idea is that the current song title would replace the app name. The issue I have is how to sync this with the browser and deciding how and when to update. For example, If I have 5 players in the house, then do I display track for the currently selected player or always the local player (if enabled). If I want to always show the track for the currently selected player in the browser, then I have a problem detecting when that changes, other than polling alot. I might try using the "Media Keys" setting to determine what player to display. The other issues is that there really is usually not enough space to display the track title, so you'll just get a portion of it. So I decided to go ahead and publish the progress part and take my time with displaying current track text. Thanks for the ideas, I truly appreciate it.
