Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Ratings Light
Thank you for your quick reply. I in fact managed to track down an old backup file and i will have to live with the fact that some ratings are gone but it shouldn't really be too much of a bother. One thing I noticed as I was looking at the file persist.db in SQLite: some ratings have been preserved but not all. I wonder if this has to do with the date these rating were imported? dsm 6.2.2 (synology disk station 115) running lms 8.0 -- rpi with a hifiberry dac+ running picoreplayer -- plugins: material skin, mai, podcasts, musik - folge mir, squeezelite-x, ratings light, exclude folders streifenleopard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42019 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113344 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Everything appears to be exactly the same except for the 'MSQUICKn' command, which becomes 'MSSMARTn' for Marantz AVR's. Therefore, a code change must be made in order to support the Quick/Smart Select function on Marantz AVR's. Although it's not a very straightforward process due to the lack of a command to query the AVR make and model, the change will be similar to one I made recently in order to accommodate a protocol difference in a certain command between older and newer Denon models and the same approach should work here. I will post the new module(s) for testing as soon as they are available. I'm actually a little surprised that this problem hasn't surfaced before now. I suppose it reflects the lower number of users with Marantz AVR's. Note AVR never switched off TV input which it was set to before and > powers it off as well while on TV input. Welcome back to the forum. The volume at 100% issue was fixed in the latest version by detecting and ignoring client volume requests of '100' when running the player in fixed output volume (100%) mode. There is actually only one problem shown in the log, which is that the Quick Select command sent to the AVR during player power on processing is apparently not completing successfully. The 'MSQUICK1' command times out after 5 seconds. The plugin handles this timeout condition by assuming that the command was nevertheless successful (an assumption that has proven to be reliable in all other cases thus far), proceeding to query the AVR volume level ('MV?') and input source ('SI?') and using them to synchronize the client player volume and store the AVR input source associated with the player, respectively. In this case, the 'SI?' command returned a value of 'TV'. Therefore, the plugin stores 'TV' as the AVR input used by the SB player. Then, when the player is powered off, the current AVR input is compared to this value and, if they are the same (which they are in this case), it powers the AVR off. So, the problem would seem to be either 1) the AVR is not correctly executing the 'MSQUICK1' command or, 2) it is executing it but the Quick Select 1 command has been saved incorrectly (i.e. with an input of 'TV' instead of the input associated with the SB (squeezelite) player). So, a few questions: 1. Which AVR input is the squeezlite player connected to? Is that input HDMI, digital, or analog? 2. How is the Quick Select 1 (Smart Select 1) command defined in the AVR? (i.e. input source and volume) 3. After you turn the SB player on and begin to play music, do you hear it from the AVR speakers? You don't mention that. 4. If you initiate the Smart Select 1 command via the AVR remote, what happens? Does it correctly set the desired input source? It could be a protocol difference unique to Marantz AVR's. However, I would expect other commands in addition to 'MSQUICKn' to have problems too. Once it is certain that the Smart Select 1 is defined correctly and works via the remote (setting the correct input), we can test further by using a generic TCP client app. Sam SamY's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63495 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Forgive me if my recent discovery has been discussed before, but I thought I would share. I don't really ever use playlists or play around with the queue. I'm a choose and play guy...:) I listen to allot of internet radio, especially in the workshop, and occasionally a song comes on I don't care for, or I just feel like a change. I generally navigate through my favorites (which have folder heirarchy, e.g. blues->blues station A), so there is allot of menu/folder traversing to select a new station. With a radio station, Material shows a song with infinite duration in the queue. I started adding other stations to the queue, stations I would flip between. It works great with the only caveat (not a big deal), is the song/artist/artwork only updates for the active item in the queue. The other caveat is the station ID might not be there. Example "Wake Up" was on Mother Earth Radio. 37555 The great thing is I can save the queue, which creates a playlist item which is basically a set of radio presets. So, listen to an album, or whatever, come back, load the playlist and choose from my radio stations. Awesome Craig! Jim PS - I have been able to break Material or LMS doing this, where audio for the selected station will play, but with artwork from another queue member showing, but I am trying to recreate the steps required for this to happen. If I can establish that I'll report back. +---+ |Filename: presets.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37555| +---+ Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

RL doesn't store your rating data. It tells LMS to store them in the LMS persistent database. So RL is not really involved in this unless you have a RL backup - which you say you don't. Have you deleted your cache folder? That would have deleted the entire LMS database. Or have you changed the location / file path of your music folder? That would likely make the ratings disappear because LMS ties them to the file url. And you don't have *any* other backup at all that would include the LMS cache folder? Complete OS, user home folder...? Without any backup at all, I don't see how you would be able to recover your ratings - unless you have rating values stored in the files' metadata (e.g. comment tag) or some playlists with all tracks rated 1 star, 2 stars etc.). One last thing I can think of: sometimes LMS doesn't delete old entries from the persistent database right away if the file url has changed. Go to your LMS cache folder and open the current LMS persistent database, a file called "persist.db", with a SQLite browser/app to see if it contains rating values. If you don't know how to do that, send me the "persist.db" file and I'll take a look. *Plugin repositories:* 'Ratings Light' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-ratingslight) 'Visual Statistics' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-visualstatistics) 'Use Comment Tag Info' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-usecommenttaginfo) 'Dynamic Playlists 3 FAQ' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-dynamicplaylists#faq) 'Custom Skip 3 FAQ' (https://github.com/AF-1/lms-customskip#faq) AF1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39306 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113344 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
