I finally got spotty 4.8.0 installed correctly, by marking the spotty 4.8.1 as to be installed and then stop LMS, exchange the spotty.zip in DownloadedPlugins with the 4.8.0 Start LMS But as you predicted, 4.8.0 also has the problem, then this has been ticked off. But what is then the reason for this behavior ? And how does I hunt it down ? @cpd73 In the package I've included a "BBCSoundsIcon.svg" which is the monochrome svg which Material selects automatically.I've also included a colour version of the same icon in the package and named it using the convention "BBCSoundsIcon_color.svg".Obviously that is unused, but I included it as a suggestion for a convention if you wanted to provide a colour app icon option in your theming in the future. Actually, I've found a place in their Android app where they use a monochrome version of these 3 bland boxes! 37637 So I guess that it will eventually be recognisable to people. So I'll change to that, with the confidence that I'm still complying with their branding. expectingtofly wrote: > should (what are essentially) "app" icons be monochrome? My main reason for liking all monochrome is that the icons always fit with whatever background colour is chosen - as they can be recoloured. Another reason for this is that initially I was just manually mapping a plugin's PNG filename to a material font icon or SVG icon - and some plugins use the main app icon as an icon for actions. I guess I could work-around that by detecting if the icon is used on the top-level, etc. My initial reaction was because this icon stood out like a sore thumb. I like consistency - so it should be all monochrome, or all coloured (where this makes sense)... I am leaning more towards this. (Must admit I knew this would be a can of worms when I first implemented the mapping) expectingtofly wrote: > I don't see that in Material themed apps elsewhere. Well 'Contacts' etc. from the Android GMail app's menu is monochrome. But that's beside the point - and there I guess they are more action than app icons. expectingtofly wrote: > But anyway, I can see why you want to maintain the look, I'll have a > think, maybe I should just use the monochrome "BBC" squares ? IMHO, that "BBC" squares would be too small for an icon (they do not have enough height in a blank square). Plus "BBC Sounds" is written in text under the icon. *Material debug:* 1.
