Just remove that manually installed version and get back to the regular installation. There are thousands of happy users out there. Her is the error message Please check permissions on /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/i386-linux/spotty*. I unzipped the 4.8.0 you linked to into /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/Plugins But it does work correct I must assume it does _not_ work correctly?
