Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Erlands commercial plugins available for free

My apologies if this has been asked and answered a million times

I'm still using LMS Version: 7.9.0 - 1479378558 (things have just
worked, and I haven't wanted to screw up a good thing). I was having
some issues that caused me to deactivate and reactivate all my plug-ins,
and for some reason Title Switcher is the only one of my essential
plug-ins that won't load. It appears we're up to version 1.3.23
now...I'm not sure if that was the last workable version for me or not.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how I may resolve the
issue? Many thanks...I'm pleased this forum is still active. I still
can't believe after all these years LMS is still the best software for
listening to my music collection!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Clock applet for Touch/Radio/Controller

2015-03-18 Thread GeeJay

Erland,

I created (or more correctly, edited someone else's) a Now Playing
screensaver for my Touch that shows the Trackstat rating for the track
that is playing. I had to uninstall and reinstall LMS last year due to
other issues, and I've never been able to get the screensaver to work
right since the reinstallation. Instead of showing the rating, it just
shows the field (TRACKSTATRATINGDYNAMIC).

It's been 5 years since I last touched this plug-in, so I'm at a loss at
figuring out what I should do to get it working as it did before. Any
ideas?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2014-07-24 Thread GeeJay

Thanks, errand. By examining the server log after turning on debugging
I was able to figure out what happened.

I had “Minimum song length to count” set to 60 seconds. Apparently, if
Trackstat doesn’t count the track as listened, it wouldn’t assign a
rating. I reset that field to 1 second, and the next time I hit
skipped, it assigned a rating of 50 (3 stars). Normally, if the track
plays all the way through, it had assigned a value of 60, so I guess it
was adjusting for my decrease percentage.

In order to get the behavior I want (assign a 2-star rating if I skip
before the half-way point), I lowered the initial rating to 50.

I'll play with these values some more to fine tune the behavior I want,
but I'm happy I finally figured this out. I do recall a number of years
ago fiddling with these values. I'm sure somewhere down the line I
uninstalled and reinstalled and lost my settings, and just never
bothered to check them until now.

No. I'm asking about establishing a rating on an unrated track when you
don't allow the track to finish. My recollection was that at one time
Trackstat would automatically rate those tracks, too, not just those
played all the way through. If you skipped the track before you hit the
halfway point, it would assign a 2-star rating. Once it hit the halfway
point, it would assign a 3-star rating just as it does a completed
track.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2014-07-20 Thread GeeJay

I could have sworn, when I first started using Trackstat, that there was
a feature whereby if I skipped to the next track before 50% of the song
had played, a rating of 40 (2 stars) was given to the track. If I
didn't skip to the next song until after half the track had played, the
standard automatic rating of 60 (3 stars) was given.

Am I remembering a feature that didn't exist? I realized the other day
when I skipped a track before the halfway point, that a rating wasn't
being assigned to the track. I searched this thread, the wiki page, and
of course the plugin options themselves, but can't find anything
indicating this option exists.

I ran a search of this thread, but couldn't find any hits that answered
this question#8230;hope it hasn't been asked and answered 100 times
already: the screenshot of the blender on your webpage shows an option
to play the mix as a static playlist, but when I pull up the blender, it
only gives me Play this mix or Save this Recipe. When I hit Play
this mix, it starts what appears to be a Dynamic playlist. Is there
some switch I need to turn off to get the static playlist choice?

I use Dynamic random playlists almost exclusively, so it wouldn't
surprise me to learn that I have some setting I need to change in order
to get the desired result.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Can you insert a Smart Mix playlist into a Dynamic Playlist on the fly?

2013-02-09 Thread GeeJay

I've only played with the new Smart Mix plugin a few times, and am
excited by this development. I haven't been able to keep up with the
46-page (and counting) thread announcing the plugin, so I imagine this
subject is buried somewhere in that thread. I thought it might be
better to ask the question in a separate thread.

I've always wanted the ability, when listening to one of my random
dynamic playlists, to add a few songs on the fly that are similar in
theme, artist, etc., to the song that is currently playing. So far,
whenever I've tried this with Smart Mix, it deletes the playlist
currently playing. What would be really cool is if I could hit Create
artist Mix, or one of the other mix choices, and the plugin would add
a predetermined number of songs immediately following the one on which I
based the mix. Is this currently possible? If not, it would be a great
enhancement.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Is there anything like the PlayMeNext app for use with Squeezebox?

2011-12-04 Thread GeeJay

I was browsing the Apple App Store this evening and ran across a cool
app I'd love to be able to use with my SBs. It's called PlayMeNext, and
basically it allows anyone at your party who has an iPhone the ability
to sign on as a Guest account to search through your collection and add
tracks to the party playlist. You can see the combined playlist from any
of the devices, including who made each submission. Another neat feature
allows guests to post photos using the same app, so the TV (or I could
see the Touch) becomes a more integral part of the party.

It looks like a neat idea, and one I might try if I didn't have to turn
over control of my library to iTunes. I'm curious if anyone has had
experience with an app like this in a party setting. iPeng is probably
a bit expensive to ask guests to download for one party, and it might
not allow as limited access as the PlayMeNext app.

Are there instructions somewhere explaining how one should go about
getting Playback to work on ATT's 3G network. I enabled the app last
night, and had it working on my WiFi network at home, but can't figure
out how to do it away from home.

My iPhone is no longer showing up as a recognized player on iPeng, if
that helps pinpoint the problem.

BTW, I'm not a techie, so I may need basic training on how to remotely
access my home network.

There is. The path is the same as what you posted. It just stops after

I tried searching for a .par file, or anything with superdatetime in

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Thank you, Pippin, for bringing us Party Mode!

This is a shameless plug for iPeng.

Despite an outcry from a fair number of folks, Logitech ceased
development of Party Mode after briefly toying with it in Beta release
several years ago. Pippin just brought it back in the latest iPeng
release, and I must say that it thus far appears to work as it should.
In fact, it's the first version to my knowledge that is compatible with
Dynamic Playlists, a serious drawback in the original.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can once again allow guests access

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Anyone having luck using Trackstat ratings with Custom Clock?

2010-11-07 Thread GeeJay

I'm not having any luck at all. I tried modifying MeSue's template for
use on my Controller and Touch, but no luck. If I try something like
TRACKNUM. ARTIST - TITLE (TRACKSTATRATINGDYNAMIC)in a trackplayingtext
field, the track number, artist and title appear as expected, but I get
the word TRACKSTATRATINGDYNAMIC instead of the actual rating.

My SB3 screensavers have been displaying this information for several
years. I seem to recall having a similar issue when I first started
customizing my SB3 screensavers, but for the life of me I can't figure
out how I fixed it.

Any thoughts?

Two days later, and mine is updating...most of the time.

A quick look at my server error log indicates that timeout errors are

I have no idea if the MusicIP export was causing the problem, but I

so many people, and such a natural extension of the basic SB mission of
allowing folks to listen to their music the way they want to listen to

Logitech is making a huge mistake if they don't find a way to support
your plugins. I can not overstate the importance of Trackstat and
Dynamic Playlists to me. I primarily listen to random playlists that
filter out lower rated tracks. Not being able to do so would keep me

Was that an emphatic enough endorsement?

  a specific letter
- I need to be able to browse custom tags
- The standard browse menus can't be configured as I like them
- I need to be able to browse decades
- I need more flexible browse menus to browse classical or jazz music
- I use it because it exists but the standard browse menus works good
  enough
- Some other reason

When my wife wants to browse songs by artist, she doesn't want to have
to look in each album. The Web interface has an All Songs choice
under each artist, but not our Duet Controller (at least I haven't seen
it).

With Custom Browse I was able to create a menu item called Browse All
Songs By Artist. Problem solved.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2008-10-18 Thread GeeJay

Erland, I think I may have found a bug in the SQL Playlist plug-in.
Reference this thread I started a while back:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=351114#post351114

Seems to only occur when I run the SQL Playlist...which happens to be
the way I usually listen to music. I've been a faithful user since
6.5.x, so this is a new problem for me with 7.2.

Any ideas on what I should do to isolate the problem?

Is it the ability to view/change rating of currently played track that
is critical or are we also talking about the functionality to browse
 the TrackStat statistics ?

Both, in my view, but having the ability to view/change the rating of
the currently playing track is #1 for me. Not having that feature is
the single biggest drawback to the Controller right now for me (that
and the poor wireless range...but that's another topic).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Rating multiple tracks to trackstat

2008-04-10 Thread GeeJay

I've been using MusicIP for mass ratings. It will work with your flac
files. I've had some difficulties getting SC and MusicIP to
communicate, but once I get past that it works well.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SC7 and dynamic playlist problems

2008-04-05 Thread GeeJay

Sync always worked fine for me under 6.5.x, and presented no problems
when I first downloaded 7.0 about 3 weeks ago. Once I switched from
Classic to the Default skin about a week ago, however, I encountered
the same behavior (every song on one player began 3-4 seconds after the
other).

At first I didn't get the connection. I tried a lot of different
fixes, to no avail, when I remembered the timing of the skin change.
I've gone back to the Classic skin and (knocks on wood) things are back
to the way they should be.
